@DPJHodges 1987 - Sex Offender Donald Trump visits Moscow
1987 (a couple of weeks after returning) - Trump spends $130k on 3 page adverts in USA broadsheets attacking NATO.
What possible Kompromat could the Kremlin have on Sex Offending, Multiple Bankruptee, Donald Trump?

And again. This is not rational.

Trump has fully turned on Zelenskyy: "He's always looking to purchase missiles. Listen, when you start a war, you gotta know you can win a war. You don't start a war against somebody that's 20 times your size and then hope that people give you some missiles."

@clivemerrison you were absolutely amazing in the Radio 4 Sherlock Holmes radio dramas. They accompanied me through many years of commuting to work. So entertaining! Thank you so much! 🙏

@jillywrites Glad you like the work. Shame Audible don't pay me for it!

My 2024 #Audible stats. I always have an audiobook running in my ears....always. Even now, writing this, I'm listening to @clivemerrison 's perfect Sherlock Holmes. Life without audio would be unbearable. I'd actually have to listen to....people.

If we don’t resist the rise of radical Islam in the UK, by 2050 our grandchildren will live in an Islamic state under Islamic law.
Which is a total betrayal of our covenant with the next generation.
We need a strong cultural movement to protect our way of life.
Politicians won’t touch it.

A journalist caught with the most depraved images of children walks free and keeps his pension.
A journalist exposing media corruption is arrested and detained on terrorism charges for not sharing his PIN code to his phone:
A young woman, Rhiannon Skye Whyte, whose name you will struggle to find in the MSM is brutally murdered by an asylum seeker. Media couldn’t be quicker to forget and move on from.
Three young girls, four months on from being brutally murdered and the public know almost nothing about the perpetrator or his motives has his preliminary hearing cancelled.
A pensioner bullied into pleading guilty for holding a banner and shouting at the police takes his own life in prison after being sentenced for two and a half years.
A man tried and found guilty for praying for the unborn.
A woman with no previous police record tweets furiously, deletes quickly and apologises profusely is sent to prison which has released seasoned criminals to make room for her.
This country is an authoritarian state where power rests in the hands of a party which 4 out of 5 of the population don’t vote for.
This is the legacy of @Keir_Starmer and his first hundred days. A country brought to its knees, broken down the middle between the protected tier of the oppressed and the ignored and hated tier of those furious at the betrayal of government after government refusing to listen to the concerns of the people.
Two tier society. Two tier justice system.
Two tier policing. Two tier Keir.

@LucyMangan How extraordinary! I see you're playing First Witch in Macbeth in Liverpool. Your late father The Fred would, I'm sure, be thrilled at your mid career multi tasking

@TobyHadoke @StuartDenman It was beautifully and skilfully put together. Well done.

I made a film with @StuartDenman for Newsnight. I hope you like it. A lot of work goes into six minutes!

As BBC iPlayer launches 'the Whoniverse' to celebrate Dr Who's 60th anniversary, the TV historian Toby Hadoke has taken a trip into the programme's past - and examines accusations from some that the series has been smuggling social commentary into its plotlines. #Newsnight

belltoons.co.uk/bellworks/inde… Spiked again. It is getting pretty nigh impossible to draw this subject for the Guardian now without being accused of deploying "antisemitic tropes".

@BertCoules Thank you for the greetings old friend. I never thought I'd make old bones and now I will.
English

Belated birthday greetings to @clivemerrison. To me, he will always be *the* Sherlock Holmes.

Eight years ago Peter Donaldson, one of the greatest radio voices, died. Two weeks before, we had lunch for the last time: fish and chips and a pint of his beloved @Adnams. Walking around his beautiful cottage garden afterwards, he gave me a pot of rosemary, “For remembrance.” The original plant is not looking great, so a couple of months ago, I took cuttings and potted them up this afternoon. Jim Naughtie has had his name down for one of these for ages @naughtiej, so I look forward to Jim popping out to the garden when cooking, as I do, for ‘a sprig of Peter’ — in fond remembrance of a great broadcaster and a dear man.
