@MeetAnOstoMate I had mine relocated twice. Was in hospital for 2 weeks each time. The first was just moving it up a bit and Inhad a small inciy, last time it had to be moved to the opposite site so I had a full central incision

I’m having my stoma relocated due to a painful hernia. Has anyone had this surgery? Will the old stoma site be an open wound? How long were you in the hospital and fully recovered? My doctor says the incision will be minimal. #ostomy

@MeetAnOstoMate They dry pretty quickly and if it’s important that it is dry then I change the bag afterwards rather than try and keep it dry as nothing seems to work 100%

@MeetAnOstoMate I was warned the same but only nerve damage is some numbness at the top of my leg (and a couple of fingers due to poor positioning by the anaethetist during my last surgery to reposition the stoma)

Advice needed! I’m 32 with a slow transit diagnosis, had my colon removed, & now face rectum removal surgery. Daily pain, mucus, & rectal spasms persist. Surgeon warns of a 5% risk of nerve damage affecting erections/sperm. Experiences? #ostomy #stoma

@stomababe @itvcorrie Don’t watch corrie but agree that this is misleading. Had to have mine resited 4 wks ago and had 2 IV lines a nasal tube and a catheter, was up and ok 1st couple of days but then it hit and was very unwell for the next 4 or 5 days. Totally misleading

Watched the stoma storyline on @itvcorrie … my first thoughts were… 1. Why is Beth chatting away in bed like she’s just got a tummy bug? I couldn’t form a sentence for days after my op due to being off my head on pain meds. 2. She doesn’t look in any discomfort at all, when we all know that she would not be just sitting up like that. 3. Where is the drainage bag? Or any medical equipment at all!? Very odd.

@bwdphotocanada Hope they sort it soon. Hard for children to understand at that age yet they have a sixth sense about these things as well

Day 1 of recovery is going well. Had the at home nurse come by to check out my wound. Wound care has put in for a wound vac but that could be a few days to a week. It's been really tough not picking up my daughter and she's been having a tough time understanding

The consultation period for PIP ends next week, and Liz Kendall still hasn't addressed whether she will abandon the Tory proposal to replace monthly payments with vouchers. This is causing unnecessary anxiety for society's most vulnerable individuals. Truly appalling.

@stomababe It’s a game changer for sure, did my BSc and MSc after I got mine, still work full time (plus overtime) and end up falling asleep in front of the TV every night but going through all that gives you the strength to push through and not give up. Keep up the good work

Having a permanent stoma can be incredibly exhausting. Nightly wake-ups to empty the stoma and the constant loss of nutrients take a toll. Simple tasks require tremendous effort every day. It's incredibly challenging, but it's the price we pay for survival.

@LondonAllergy How about Dymista spray? Not used OTC sprays for months and a few puffs of this couple of times a week atm

@duncsand What’s the difference between these and condenser type dryers? Do you still need to empty a water tank?
