A thread 🧵 on how trans activists use a few certain words to influence trap and control the agenda and impressively so. The meaning of words matter and that meaning changes over time and also between nations, areas and groups. Any emotions that go with a word also differ

Tesla has reportedly scrapped plans for a vehicle production factory in India. India’s Minister of Heavy Industries, K. N. Balagopa, stated that Tesla has decided against building a manufacturing plant in India. Tesla’s decision weighed several factors, including major shortcomings in the country’s local supply chain and industrial base, a stalemate in talks with the government over the sequencing of tariff cuts versus factory construction, insufficient infrastructure, the limited purchasing power of Indian consumers relative to Tesla’s premium vehicles, and broader uncertainties stemming from policy and regulatory risks in the Indian business environment.

@RichardDawkins Richard, why you are pulling a “get off my lawn”? People can act how they want to as long as it doesn’t affect others. What exactly is at stake here?

The leader of the Lib Dems, and the leader and deputy leader of the Green party, think some women have penises. In itself, it seems like a relatively unimportant matter. But it is symptomatic of a contempt for science and evidence-based truth. Could you vote for a flat-Earther?

🚨 Labour is using the “Online Safety Act” to silence political opponents, and TikTok is doing their dirty work. First, TikTok removed my video announcing Reform UK’s new policy to place secure illegal migrant detention centres in non-Reform constituencies, prioritising Green ones.  TikTok explicitly cited the Online Safety Act as the reason for its removal. This is hard evidence of this draconian legislation being weaponised to silence political opponents.  That same video has 6.2 million views on other platforms. Today, the censorship escalated.  TikTok has now removed my video outlining the key policies I would implement as Home Secretary, claiming it is “Hate Speech and Hateful Behaviour.”  They warned me that any further "violations" will result in a strike, potentially leading to being de-platformed altogether. This is all the more staggering given TikTok happily hosts hundreds of videos of people calling for the assassination of Nigel Farage. My TikTok videos had received 18 million views over the previous 28 days. This is a chilling attempt to silence one of the biggest and fastest-growing UK political accounts on the platform. TikTok is engaging in direct political interference in the midst of the most pivotal elections in our country’s history. All under the auspice of the “Online Safety Act” that the Tories and Labour claimed to be about protecting children. It is, and always will be about silencing voices the open-borders political establishment don’t like. @TikTokComms have decided to try and suppress Reform. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.

Ukraine fines people to speak the majority language, Russian It's as if Canada fined people speaking English, because the Francophones were in power
𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝 𝐙 🇷🇺🇮🇪@SMO_VZ

In Ukraine, they propose to increase fines for using the Russian language Ukrainian language ombudswoman Ivanovskaya proposes to increase fines for businesses by 10 times for using the Russian language. "We must act on the principle of 'if you don't respect the state language, you lose profit; if you don't comply with the law, you lose the right to professional realization'," she stated. Currently, the fine for the first violation is 3,400–5,100 hryvnias, and for the second - 8,500–11,900 hryvnias. Ukrainian businessmen don't want to switch to the "rechekryak" (broken Ukrainian), no matter what. They're even willing to pay fines rather than racking their brains trying to remember how to say familiar and established Russian words and terms in Ukrainian. Moreover, not all professional slang has been translated into Ukrainian yet. And Mrs. Ivanovskaya hasn't even addressed the deputies and ministers who, outside of parliamentary sessions, universally communicate in the great and mighty Russian language. Ukraine is the only country in the world where one of the six official languages of the United Nations is officially oppressed and prohibited. Will the UN react? Don't make us laugh. PS.... wonder should Russia reverse that once they take Ukraine Vote Below ))))

A rather large number of non-white British people would reap the whirlwind of a Reform Gov ripping the country apart. Could be why Tik Tok said thanks, but no thanks. Your video has little policy based on very little fact & strangely enough timed to coincide with the Tommy hate march this weekend. Feeling emboldened were you? Hate isn’t free speech. If you think it is perhaps jump on ✈️ to Washington next time Nigel goes to see Donald. Experience it US style. And those assassination videos - I’d report them - have u?

Most people in medieval England never travelled far from where they were born.... Life was centred on the village. Work, family, and obligations all tied people to the same place, often for their entire lives. For many, a journey of even a few miles was unusual. Travel took time and effort. Roads were often poor, and most people moved on foot. Carts and horses were limited, and long-distance journeys were not practical for everyday life. There were exceptions. Pilgrimage could take people much further, with routes leading to places like Canterbury. Trade and military service also moved some individuals across regions. But for the majority, life remained local. The landscape they were born into was usually the same one they lived and died in. © MedievalHistoria #archaeohistories
