I know why guys don't want to accept that cold approach doesn't work -- emphasis on "cold." The problem with convincing these guys that hitting on girls on the streets doesn't work is that they don't have any other avenues otherwise. They aren't invited to parties, they're weird and awkward in social gatherings, apps don't work for them, etc. So if you tell them girls on the streets are out, they have nothing.
