Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling on access to mifepristone is a relief, but it should never have been necessary. Women in New Mexico and across the country deserve access to safe, effective reproductive health care. We are grateful that today, this freedom remains secure.

@NewsHour It took Republicans to pass this to hold all Senators accountable.

The Senate has unanimously passed a measure to withhold its own pay during future government shutdowns. The resolution passed by voice vote and would block senators from getting paid whenever a shutdown affects one or more agencies. But like federal employees, they would get back pay once the government reopens. The measure's sponsor, Republican Sen. John Kennedy, has said the move is about "putting our money where our mouth is." The resolution is set to take effect after the midterms and does not apply to members of the House.

@NewsHour The independently wealthy millionaires hold their paychecks while they close the government down. They then receive them after they choose to open it again. The people who actually work for this country do without, rack up late fees and interest, and suffer. End 2 party system.

I want a nation I can trust and be proud of again. Bring back the fairness doctrine and pass a new voting rights act, or a constitutional amendment to address campaign contributions, gerrymandering, and voting rights. RCV for the win.

@timruss2 More representatives in congress will give each of us more of a voice in congress. The constitution does not limit the number of representatives. We can take the ballroom money and build a bigger capitol.

@timruss2 The top 2-5 candidates in the open primaries can then move on to the general election. Ds and Rs will not willingly the power they currently hold. Corporations and billionaires will not want to spend more money on more candidates to get there way.

This is what happens when you obsess over not having the "perfect candidate" to vote for, or being apathetic, or selfish or claiming "both sides do it."
