The guy speaking the background is spot on. The idea that they’ve given the player the option to try and ‘run off’ what’s turned out to be an ACL injury is pure negligence and they should be losing their jobs immediately. Of course the player is going to want to see if he can play on. It’s the responsibility of the medical staff to control the situation so he doesn’t aggravate the injury further. For all we know they’ve turned a 2 month injury in to a 9 month injury. It’s beyond a joke and it infuriates me. When it’s happened this many times, it’s no longer a coincidence. Van de Ven coming back before he was ready last season. Kulusevski out for an entire year with no sign of a return. Maddison injured last season then an ACL within a week of returning in pre season. Rushing Kudus back before he was ready. Maddison again with a delay. And now this. Turn the medical department upside down in the summer and make sure they never work in football again.

Really sad to hear about the end of Football Focus. I loved that show growing up. I used to watch it every week with my dad and I remember how proud he was when I got the job. It was such a privilege to sit in the chair for 12 years, work with an amazing team on and off air and form so many lasting friendships. Saturdays were always special. The football landscape is constantly changing and it’s disappointing that there isn’t space for a show that has meant so much to so many people for so many years.

@NathanAClark Been thinking about this as well. The hard part about this is trying to find the balance between getting the right profiles on the pitch and assess how much fielding players who care about us staying up matter.

Once again I find myself saying I am sorry but we simply have no choice but to play Bissouma. He guarantees absolutely nothing but also we can not play without him.
