(Methodology is summarized in comment below) Now, any individual conference will have its own factors to consider (especially given its existing membership base and geography), and network partners similarly have other factors on how much they would invest in, but this shows a lot about (for example) how the additions to the #B1G, #SEC, #Big12, and #SEC stack up, and why they did what they did, even though their moves might not make sense to many at the time. Things you won’t see on Fox News today… Prices for Thanksgiving are down -- from Turkey to air travel. Average hourly wage is up -- almost 4.4% from over a year ago, 18% from 3 years ago. That’s nearly the best 3-year gain in 40 years.

Look this is all silly. There's an annual game of "let's tell a political story with Thanksgiving prices." This year, they're actually down using the measuring stick folks typically use. Rather than lose a good meme, the answer has been to invent or misrepresent.

If you're thinking about Thanksgiving, perhaps you're needing apples for your pie. Fresh apples are down -3.9% over the year. And the farm bureau reports that fresh cranberry prices are down -18.3%. What other fruits are Thanksgiving relevant?

Let's start with the claim "uncooked turkey" is 7.2% more expensive. That's actually the CPI for a broader category of "other uncooked poultry" which includes Turkey. But turkeys? The USDA says the retail price of fresh Hens is down -7.6% and fresh Toms are down -8.1%
