@HighlandGirl @estherzelda0514 Yeah I agree. I didn’t hear the antisemitic conspiracy theories until I went to college on the East coast among WASPs. More and more Hispanics are joining fundamentalist Pentecostal churches (20-40% now, depending on state/region). If there is antisemitism I pinpoint that trend.
English

Nobody else will say it, so I will. One reason Democratic support collapsed among Hispanics is antisemitism and misogyny. They were super receptive to the conspiracy theories because of Catholicism and machismo.
Zachary Donnini@ZacharyDonnini
2024 was an unmitigated disaster for Democrats with Hispanic voters. Mexican, Puerto Rican, and Cuban voters all shifted hard towards Trump, and swings were especially extreme in the lowest education areas and in communities with more recent immigrants.
English

@StaciBryant133 @JackRyanlives Too bad you don’t know that 85% of federal employees don’t work in the DC area 😮
English

Very few federal employees voted for Donald Trump. The vote breakdown from DC was 96% for Kamala Harris. And why is anyone acting like this is controversial? Presidents from both parties have promised to cut government spending and get rid of corruption. Trump’s just the first one to actually do it.
English

@Lobster083 @Kywoman1951 @OhYouGirl lol they’re not paying off any of the debt, they’re increasing it and it’s all going to tax cuts for the rich 🤣. You’re all suck suckers.
English

@SallyElectron @SaraJoh69652366 @Kywoman1951 @OhYouGirl What the hell are you talking about? They’re adding to the national debt to enrich themselves before the country implodes? That’s seriously your argument?
English

@SaraJoh69652366 @cmriedremd @Kywoman1951 @OhYouGirl Yes and we need other countries to step up and help us out with the global assistance too. Where there is disruption there is opportunity. Find a way to privatize!
English

@lovelady_s69679 @Kywoman1951 @OhYouGirl Nope. They’re proposing an additional $3 trillion of debt. Why?
English

@Kywoman1951 @OhYouGirl “Budget cuts”? Then why is the GOP proposing a $3 trillion dollar increase in their budget? 🤔
English

@OhYouGirl It’s called budget cuts. Do federal employees think they are exempt from layoffs like the rest of America.
English

@leopardshore @dieworkwear Curious. It has the same number of employees now yet the country’s population has grown 3x. Seems more efficient than ever.
English

@dieworkwear Cool thread, but the federal government 1940s and 1950s and the federal government now is completely different.
English

Actually, the US government has been involved with clothing in a few ways. The results have been glorious. Let me show you. 🧵
Barb; Grandmother@Gramma_Barbie
@dieworkwear Imagine there was a Department of Clothing and you had to wear the clothes the government made. There would be itchy tags and serged seams. It would be a disaster.

@skywalkr274 @allspeltout @HanigDavid @centeright320 @DOGE So you’re interested in paying $6 billion to a private company to digitize old records instead of preserving them in hard copy as less become relevant each year, timing out from records law and retirees who die? Cool.
English

Federal employee retirements are processed using paper, by hand, in an old limestone mine in Pennsylvania. 700+ mine workers operate 230 feet underground to process ~10,000 applications per month, which are stored in manila envelopes and cardboard boxes. The retirement process takes multiple months.

English

@centeright320 @DOGE What agency do you think this is? Or are you just up your own ass since it’s actually a publicly traded company?
English

@DOGE I would bet this agency has been getting appropriations for years to update but instead the bureaucratic bosses just hired more friends and family. I'm guessing all employees are Democrat voters.
English

@TheDJ_King I understand why AI doesn't understand how bones work, but how does this get past any person?
English

@liberolscrying @samswoora @nebnella @nearcyan “You should move to the city” why do they have to move to the city if there are great jobs for all the smart people outside the city?
English

@samswoora @nebnella @nearcyan So only people in the city are smart? Does explain the U.S. voting pattern though.
English

Trump’s overall favorable rating stands at 44%, with 54% unfavorable. This is a small decline since December when he was seen favorably by 49% and unfavorably by 50%. #mulawpoll
English

@Wilson__Valdez Yep. No one has even asked wtf Trump is talking about since the inauguration as he rambles. It’s pathetic.
English

Joe Biden would give completely coherent, issue-based answers to questions. And then he would flub a single word and it was evidence of his senility.
Meanwhile, pudding-brained grandpa is out here just rambling total nonsense and all we hear about is his energy and vigor.
Acyn@Acyn
Trump: Nobody's ever seen anything like it to. Nobody's ever see numbers like this. Massive numbers, $9 million for somebody to stand in a store and see how people shop. You take a look at these things, it's a disgrace
English

@Agent06857942 @HTWardish @MeowRuka @jdawsey1 @MarkHalperin It does matter very much that the White House is violating the 1st amendment. I don’t believe anyone is above the constitution.
English

"We were informed by the White House that if AP did not align its editorial standards with President Donald Trump’s executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, AP would be barred from accessing an event in the Oval Office." ap.org/the-definitive…
