@VodafoneIreland Is there any chance that you can give TOBI a permanent holiday and help your customers instead of giving them the runaround. Elderly parent at his wits end with no phone, TV or broadband. Customer service has to do better

@cooper_m Will you be doing a review for the Best Non fiction books of 2025? Or have I missed it?

@Killybegsgirl Letterkenny- a lesson on how not to plan a town. It's awful. As bad as Galway. I visit family that way during the year and avoid the place. Traffic jams everywhere, everyone reliant on the car.

My hubby drove into Letterkenny around 11:30pm, planning on doing a bit of shopping. Sat in traffic for 25 mins, (can’t blame school traffic!!) He was fed up then and just abandoned the idea. Shops have to be suffering as a result of traffic issues.

@fotoole13 Clonmel left that one behind them. Finbarrs didn't waste a chance. Eire Og will fancy their chances.

Huge drama at finish, St Finbarr's win 1-17 to 2-11 against Clonmel Commercials, scoring 0-4 from play after 58th minute to turn the game around. Commercials went in search of levelling goal, had series of shots blocked in late scramble. St Finbarr's play Éire Óg Ennis next.

@carolmon @dublin_damo Yes it is a UNESCO site. Each year I say I'll get there for their Arde Lucus festival, where they re-enact Roman times. More & more Spanish are visiting there.

@cmurfi10 @dublin_damo Lugo is amazing with it's intact Roman walls... Great to walk at sunset (I think it's an UNESCO site) Lots traditional bars and restaurants and a very vibrant buzzy feel in the town too

Back to where my Galicia tour began two weeks ago, Santiago de Compostela's amazing food market. Bit early to be hitting the ribeiro and oysters, but final day, no time to waste!

It's basically an iron rule in Galicia that you are given something free to eat with every drink, it might be something as simple as a bowl of olives, nuts or crisps, but its a beautiful tradition, I think.

Your morning read is this piece I wrote for @eduint about how teacher workload, and curriculum reform, are so overwhelming they distract us from our core job, teaching students. ei-ie.org/en/item/30196:…

@dublin_damo Visited Galicia in ’97 and it’s been a love affair ever since. Just heard a wonderful doc on their love of Gaelic football. Galicians & Irish share that Celtic heartbeat rte.ie/radio/radio1/c…

A podcast on teacher shortages by @carlobrien and @IrishTimes. This podcast neglects to mention that every single austerity measure imposed on teachers from 2009 onwards (following the bank bailout) still remains in place, thanks to @Paschald/@jackfchambers and others.
