The CMWU is working to address @RedVentures' disregard for editorial integrity and its lack of meaningful disclosure regarding the mass removal of our content from the site.

"Content pruning" is an insult to our hard work & an affront to CNET’s history of expert tech & culture coverage. Mgmt released its internal policy memo to the press before circulating it widely to CNET’s editorial teams. The policy still hasn’t been officially shared with us.

It’s alarming that @CNET & @RedVentures implemented a policy of purging older content mgmt deems “no longer relevant or helpful.” Though presented as improving the site's "domain authority and user experience,” Google denies such a strategy improves search engine rankings.
