@MikeBales The Jam - Stop apologising for the things you’ve never done.

@SkySportsNews Pointless having this segment all he ever does is say the ref was correct and back up his mates
English

@BlessingGives It’s not City’s trophy it has Liverpool Ribbons on it, it’s Liverpools until some else wins it this season
English

@TheAdrianDurham It has completely ruined the match going experience. Fans no longer celebrate goals, instead just look to the screens to see if it’ll be allowed.

Nobody's forgotten what it was like before because 1) we're not stupid and 2) we watch football that isn't Premier League so we still appreciate the joy of football without VAR.
Also VAR doesn't have to be here to stay. That's Webb's mantra in briefings & it's an insult to fans.

@Bigalanh5 it's here to stay, people forget what it was like before. it's now a case of getting back to its original intent - clear and obvious

@lukestanley03 Same as @tonythemanc Jim Melrose vs Notts County was in the Platt Lane End on the wooden benches 50 yarder brilliant

@ArchRose90 @RayHouldsworth @Keir_Starmer I always think that if any Party lie so blatantly to be elected, they’re should be another General Election immediately
English

Hi @Keir_Starmer
What happened to “Labour would freeze your council tax”?
Or “Not a penny more on your council tax…No ifs, no buts”?
Many people across the country are opening letters for higher council tax bills.
Labour deserve the local election annihilation coming in May.
English

@henrywinter Unfortunately it has completely ruined the match going experience for the spectators. Didn’t the great Jock Stein say that football without fans is nothing ? With football clubs actively forcing fans away for tourist and corporate customers, not long before stands are empty.

Footballing authorities emphasise VAR is here to stay and Uefa will hold a meeting with the Premier League and other major European leagues to get better alignment on VAR. The governing body of European football is understood to seek less of the microscopic intervention that has caused such controversy in the Premier League and Serie A.
VAR seems to work better in the Champions League because: teams more focused on playing football (rather than grappling at corners); standard of officiating is inevitably higher as Uefa draws upon elite referees from a range of countries; and Uefa’s lighter-touch stance on technology.
Mindful of fans’ frustrations with delays, Uefa would use VAR on corners only if it was immediately identifiable before the restart. Uefa’s use of the Hawkeye semi-automated offside (SAO) system working well. A more advanced, quicker "fuller" version of the Hawkeye SAO is currently being trialled for use by Fifa at the World Cup.
Again, mindful of the need to prevent needless delays, the assistant will be notified almost instantly of a clear offside and can flag immediately rather than letting play run on as often happens now and potentially risking collisions and injuries.
Uefa is expected to follow the Premier League in trialling a direct-to-consumer streaming service for Champions League matches. Premier League Plus is being launched in Singapore next season which will allow subscribers to watch all 380 games.
The presence of five Premier League teams in next season’s Champions League looks all but guaranteed with extra spot via Uefa co-efficients. There has been discussion amongst clubs on the Continent about whether “country protection” rules should be dispensed with earlier – in the league phase – so English clubs could meet and potentially knock each other out. Uefa’s Club Competitions Committee decided against this at a meeting earlier this season.

@wozza64mcfc @WestHamPlace @WestHamRambles Yes I was at that match and I’ve always liked and respected Hammers ever since. Always the first match I look for when fixtures come out.

@prestigecar_rep @toe_le_taxi @ManCity I’m also in my last season after 43 years as a season ticket holder
English

@ManCity I’m still banned after 50 yrs. shame on you. Love my team hate what my club has become
English

@slbsn The 115 includes the idea that the Etihad was a vehicle for disguised equity. The PL have recently approved a much larger and more significant Etihad deal. Soft signal? Imagine the embarrassment for the PL “if” the 115 says the original Etihad deal disguised equity!!
English

If it took 5 minutes to decipher whether it was handball or not… it’s probably not that clear and obvious.
Ian Darke@IanDarke
On field decision as Ashley Barnes scores to give Burnley 4-4 draw - goal. It looked like he used a hand but the pix offered no definite proof. Hence VAR took 5 mins to decide. So without that proof , they changed the on-field decision. Not how it’s supposed to work , is it ?
English

@City_Xtra @spbajko Should look into their own ticketing policies as well.
