Read a tragic story today about a 17 year old girl in the United States who died from "excessive caffeine usage". I felt bad for the parents. If I lost my son I don't think I would be able to cope with the loss of my baby boy. The story went on to explain the young woman's parents are suing the energy group company (Alani) for not adequately explaining the dangers of caffeine. I was curious... How much caffeine was she consuming? According to her official death report she died from 200mg of caffeine 200 MG OF CAFFEINE?! Peace and love to the parents, but dawg 200mg of caffeine isn't fucking shit. That is amateur hour. That is well within the daily recommended limit of caffeine consumption. I DARE her parents to go to any IT place (cybersecurity, networking, programming, etc) and fucking look around the room for 2 seconds. They would be FLABBERGASTED. I myself personally consume 600mg - 800mg of caffeine a day. I know this lady who does malware stuff who unironically drinks coffee ALL DAY LONG. Every other word out here mouth is, "excuse me for a moment, I need to make another pot of coffee", and she's probably ingesting 1.6 GRAMS of caffeine. One of my colleagues is an ex-military guy WHO DRINKS WORKOUT SUPPLEMENT because his caffeine tolerance is so high. Don't even get me started on the nerds who take no-doz (caffeine pills). Then combine all of this caffeine with the nerds drinking alcohol, or smoking cigarettes, or weed, or vape, or Adderall. Her parents are trying to make a cash grab or something, I don't know bro.

@taliaotg Shooting them is the appropriate response to someone threatening people with a knife. "Disarming training," look up the 21 foot rule and get back to me about disarming people with knives.

Does NYPD know how to disarm people without going straight to lethal force? Follow-up question: Has anyone else noticed that NYPD consistently reacts to a person with a knife by shooting them??

The whole idea of "incompetent to stand trial" is fucking nonsense. If you're too "incompetent" to understand that you shouldn't butcher an innocent woman on the train, you should die. Period. Arrest, convict, execute. You are not fit to be a part of human society. How many more innocent people must we sacrifice for the sake of coddling and babying the absolute scum of the Earth? Our ancestors had it right. They would have had this guy hanging from the gallows an hour after conviction. The old system of justice was light years better than this insane bullshit we're dealing with now.

@nikutaberuru Im not sure of the exact numbers, but I believe theres is a decently large percentage of Americans that hunt wild game of some kind. The vast majority of formal training in the us is for self defense / concealed carry license training.

@SandyofCthulhu You can actually find the recordings f3om the mic they sent down the borehole and listen for yourself. Don't have a link handy, but ive heard it in at least a couple yourube videos. Just sounds like noise to me.

There's a super neat totally unsubstantiated legend that when the Soviets dug the Kola mohole they abandoned it because when they lowered a microphone into the hole, it picked up screams and moans, and people pleading and cursing in a variety of languages. I have had no fewer than three Baptists tell me this story independently. So hey why not believe it since I can't actually confirm it one way or the other?

The problem of homeless in the United States is not an issue of down on their luck individuals who just need a hand Those people almost ALWAYS get back on their feet quickly. Most homelessness is by choice. Either from drug use and refusal to stop or because they genuinely want to be homeless. Ive met couples living in tents in LA that will tell you its preferable to a 9 to 5 and responsibilities. Liberals push lies around homelessness out of ignorance and corruption. There is money to be made lying about the problem.
