Matthew Stafford shares how his QB coach, Dave Ragone, once studied his performance after turnovers and sacks. They found his stats on the next possession are exponentially better than league average. “I just equate that to being able to compartmentalize…Be honest and real about it and not ultra emotional.” In performance environments, your execution on the next play often depends on how long you stay attached to the last one. The key is not wasting energy arguing with reality and training yourself to respond and re-engage quickly. 📹: Magic Mind

The CLA is not JUST a coaching methodology, as it can be used to make sense of how skills emerge within every moment of a basketball possession.

Same drill 3 different finishes! Put players into game like situations and let them figure it out. They need to be able to react to a defender! “We get better at basketball playing basketball”

A few months ago, @TylerYearby, @fab_otte & I heard that Skill Acquisition Specialists weren't needed in pro sports b/c they "could compete with coaches who already possess significant skill acquisition expertise, potentially diluting, rather than enhancing, their hard-won intuition”. This is the type of "skill acquisition expertise" that is often on display by the coaches in the NFL. Precisely, why we make the argument that SAS are needed RIGHT NOW more than ever! journalofexpertise.org/articles/volum…

1/9 Basketball coaching is still built on drills, fundamentals, and belief systems that have remained unchallenged for several decades. Despite advances in motor learning research, practices in the present day often look the same as they did decades ago. Here’s why that must change. 🧵⬇️

Former Minnesota-Moorhead QB Jack Strand is signing with the Falcons, source said. An NFL shot for the Division II star.
