This afternoon, the Child Protection Section under the Department of Social Development in @mpslswzim, together with fellow Ministries, Departments and Government Agencies, convened a feedback and planning meeting focused on the growing challenge of children living and working on the streets. Discussions highlighted that the situation has reached alarming levels, with reports of children now approaching hotels to beg, sometimes disturbing tourists. This calls for a renewed and coordinated national response. In collaboration with key stakeholders such as @PoliceZimbabwe, Simukai, @CesviZim, @hcc_harare, and the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe, the Section is intensifying efforts to rehabilitate affected children, safeguard their wellbeing and reunite them with their families. Every child deserves safety, dignity and a chance to thrive. Communities, businesses and citizens are urged to support these initiatives by reporting cases, offering assistance and standing together to protect vulnerable children. Let us all play our part in building a safer and more inclusive society.
