🚨 Bybit Security Breach: Investigation Series – Part 2 🚨 The Bybit hacker is actively laundering funds via Exch, Chainflip & Thorchain, converting assets into BTC, ETH & TRON USDT. In the part 2, ChainBounty is focusing on profiling rather than laundering activities. Why? Because one address in this case has a history - linked to the Phemex hack & the notorious Lazarus Group. Our deep dive led us to an automated money laundering cluster and the key wallet is [0x33d057...f65] on BSC. Its transactions trace back to Nov 2024, overlapping with past laundering addresses. Tracing back further, we found that some funds in this cluster were directly deposited from @gate_io & @coinexcom. To gather more details, cooperation from CEXs is required to obtain IP logs, KYC data, and further transaction records. This should be coordinated with law enforcement for verification and further investigation.
