Growing up Chicano can be hard, friends telling you you aren’t Mexican, white people telling you that you aren’t white enough.. born into a family that would tell me I was adopted all the time (even my mom), step dad would go out of his way to tell me I wasn’t his, and would kick me so hard after he pushed me to the ground whenever he was pissed. I got ran over by a car at 5, he did nothing to help my mom with that. Now I still don’t know my real dad, but now I have 2 kids that I love infinitely. I go out of my way to make sure they feel loved, and that I will always have their back no matter what. God got me when nobody else would.
