I'm obsessed with pushing local small models to their limits. Qwen3.5:0.8b doing real-time video captioning on a Mac Studio M2 Ultra, streaming descriptions as the video plays. Under 1s per frame — 269 frames captured & described from a 3m49s video. Pause anywhere and read the captions, it describes every frame surprisingly well. This model is barely 1GB. Local AI is moving absurdly fast.

Laravel tip. Did you know you can chain `fresh()` directly on a `DB::transaction()` return value? Load relationships on the freshly created model in one line. Perfect before sending notifications or emails.

Laravel tip. Location-based filtering is a common requirement: - “find nearby” - “within X km” - “order by distance” Eloquent scope helps avoid repeating Haversine queries. You may put it into a Trait to use it in many models. Or maybe even a Package to use in many projects.
