The most amazing thing I've learned as a meteorologist is just how much people's memory fails them when it comes to weather. That 100 MPH gust you saw 14 years ago? It was only 52 MPH. The 114°F afternoon you could've sworn hit your hometown when you were 12? It was 103°F.
