@Protestia This is almost slander. John's sin wasn't a ministry-disqualifying one, and I’m sure Lawson would view it differently if it involved sexual immorality. There's no reason to think Lawson was pre-meditatively defending his mistake, and his confession suggests the opposite.

On September 15, Steve Lawson preached what was likely his final sermon, where he said, with surrounding context: "And you should not judge a man by his one weak moment...you need to look at his whole ministry, and don't judge him on one hiccup that happens"

A professional athlete who is set to make 75 million dollars over 2 years and ruptures his Achilles is not a tragedy; that it is the talk of every news outlet in America, and will be for at least the next year, is a tragedy. The spiritual state of our country is on full display.

@codyweckerly I'm spending two evenings there. As astonishing as it may seem, I have gotten the opportunity to spend one of those evenings with the Farmboy Rock Star himself, Mylo Hatzenbuhler, and his wife! I just can't believe it! Truly amazing. :-)
