BREAKING NEWS: Washington @Nationals Director of Community Relations Admits on Hidden Camera to Active Religious Discrimination Against Starting Pitcher Trevor Williams, Surveillance of Nationals Fans’ Google History, and Segregated LGBTQ+ Corporate Meetings to an O’Keefe Undercover Journalist “One of our pitchers, Trevor Williams. He’s super Christian-Catholic, all these tattoos that mean a lot.” “The Dodgers had a group… who were drag queens who sometimes dressed up as nuns. He [Trevor Williams] went on social media like… ‘This is my religion. You all are mocking it.’” “Because of that, we [Washington Nationals] don’t use him [Trevor Williams] on social [media].” “Like, when they're like, is a hot dog a sandwich? And like, the players come up, you know what I mean? Like, we [Nationals] don't ask him [Trevor Williams].” “If you ever come to a Nats game, there is someone on our team who is responsible for figuring out everything about you and assigning you into a bucket of people. If you’re accepting cookies, we’re getting a plethora of your Google history.” @heyhuds @MeLlamoTrevor @NationalsComms @MLB @MLB_PR

Years ago, I sat in chapel at Southern Seminary. I was then impressed with the Dean of the school of theology, who was preaching that morning. My parents were visiting, blue collar folk from Scots-Irish stock in Appalachia. Daddy was a coal miner underground. After hearing him speak and shaking Russell Moore’s hand, I asked my parents what they thought. “He’s a regular snake oil salesman. Fake hair coloring, fake everything. Don’t trust him any further than I could throw him.” I don’t know how they knew. But they did.

For the record: I love black people. I want them to come to Christ, reduce their crime rates, and for black fathers to stay married. I love Jewish people. I want them to come to Christ, to call their people out of usury, pornography, and political manipulation. I love Muslims. I want them to come to Christ, to reject Mohammad, stop colonizing Christian lands, and to reject polygamy and child marriage. I love Hindus. I want them to come to Christ, to tear down their demon temples, and to stop destroying God’s earth, rivers, and lakes. I love homosexuals. I want them to come to Christ, to repent of their sexual perversion, and to stop adopting and grooming children. I love feminists. I want them to come to Christ, to repent of their rebellion and disorder, and joyfully submit to male leadership. I love white people. I want them to come to Christ, to repent of their liberalism, abortion, and cowardice and to restore their Christian lands by raising their children in Christ.

@LilaGraceRose "Your true partner" sounds way too much like finding your "one true love," Disney nonsense. Marrying a good spouse is a crucial ingredient, but the current quality of your marriage is based on your effort in a godly direction.

So true. Marrying the right person makes you more capable, more productive, more confident, and more happy. “Being married to your true partner and having a good marriage is a superpower in life. Where it’s like you feel like every problem can be beaten because there’s two of you… If I have a problem she has a problem, if she has a problem I have a problem and we tackle it together. Knowing someone who always has your back is a superpower”

Any show or movie that has tried to portray abortion as rational behavior fails miserably because it's one of the most evil and selfish things a person can do, and everybody knows it.
Verbal Riot@verbalriotshow

So while Mark almost dies out in deep space fighting a war to protect the fucking planet, Eve not only doesn't tell him she's even pregnant, but gets an abortion then tells him about it when he gets back... and Mark is the one apologizing to her?

Our kids love Forrest Frank. He’s played constantly. But even he would probably agree to not stop our theology at his lyrics. Musicians give us a gift and can point us to worship. But our favorite musician should not be our favorite theologian. There’s a well and a history of men who’ve explored and explained the depths of Scripture in a faithfully reformed way. Go swimming.

There was a time when women in America did not vote. And yet, they held a highly esteemed position in social life within the family. They were incredibly influential and loved. Of this, Alexis De Tocqueville wrote: "I do not hesitate to avow that although the women of the United States are confined within the narrow circle of domestic life, and their situation is in some respects one of extreme dependence, I have nowhere seen woman occupying a loftier position; and if I were asked, now that I am drawing to the close of this work, in which I have spoken of so many important things done by the Americans, to what the singular prosperity and growing strength of that people ought mainly to be attributed, I should reply: To the superiority of their women."

@Katy_Faust @WNGdotorg This is interesting. A good idea depending on the communities your family participates in. However, Christians are not the only people with young adults who have dating paralysis. I don't think undue pressure of dating only for marriage is the primary cause, if one at all.

"When #dating is framed only as a prelude to marriage, every interaction becomes high stakes. “Could I marry her?” precedes, “Should I message her?” A coffee invite could carry the weight of a proposal. The result is paralysis." My latest @WNGdotorg wng.org/opinions/chris…

Coming to believe ~90% of the political differences among Christians boil down to a failure to distinguish between the Biblical roles of the individual, the church, and the State. No, God did not command governments to forcibly redistribute wealth. Yes, God commanded Christians as individuals to practice charity. Individual Christians in Acts “gave willingly and not under compulsion.” Christians in Acts did not vote for the Emperor to increase the marginal tax rate and call that “generosity.”

Hot take nobody asked for: I cut my "preaching teeth" on expository (verse-by-verse, lectio continua) preaching. It's good. I love it. I do it. It is not the only good way to preach. It might be the best way. But it's surely not the only good way.
