@coffeeguy_77 @rickbrennanjr This is in the Top Ten of most abused Scripture verses by Protestants. 😂😂😂
John was writing to his students. Not you. They were taught the actual Christian faith and believed it. You were taught heresy.

Catholics on X frequently accuse Protestants of not understanding New Testament worship because we do not have the sacrifice of the Mass. But that assumes the very point in dispute, because it reads New Testament worship through the lens of later Roman tradition.
Protestants do understand New Testament worship. We present ourselves to God as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to him, which the Apostle Paul calls our “spiritual worship” (Rom 12:1). Note, that the offering we bring to our worship services is ourselves—in humble obedience to the almighty God, the creator and sustainer of all things.
Protestants worship Christ through prayer, praise, confession, thanksgiving, the reading and preaching of Scripture, fellowship with the saints, the ordinances Christ gave his Church, and lives of obedience offered to God through Christ.
The New Testament does not reduce worship to an altar, a priestly caste, or a repeated sacrificial rite. Christ offered himself once for all (Heb 10:10–14), opened our access to the Father (Heb 10:19–22), and made his people a royal priesthood who offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ (1 Pet 2:5, 9).
So yes, Protestants worship the triune God. We offer the sacrifice of praise, love, obedience, and thanksgiving—not to complete Christ’s sacrifice, but because his once-for-all sacrifice is finished. We worship the Father, through the Son, in the Spirit, according to the Word.

@rickbrennanjr @coffeeguy_77 Yes Catholics abide by the Bible. Protestants do not. Pretty simple to explain. Scripture is explicit about mortal sin

@coffeeguy_77 @rickbrennanjr You didn't answer. Do you want to learn the actual Christian faith?

@coffeeguy_77 @rickbrennanjr Your interpretation of those verses is objectively wrong. That's why cherry picking like you've done leads to heresy like this.

Religious people HATE Sola Scriptura because it makes the Bible the authority and NOT their man-made religious system.

@CalvZynisT Catholicism teaches the opposite of saved by grace. It teaches salvation by works disguised as "works of love enabled by grace".
So devilishly deceptive, but not to God’s elect. We know what grace means.

@CalvZynisT 💯 Saved by grace when we were dead in sins. Clearly God saves sinners.
For us, Grace means no works required.
For Catholics, grace means they're enabled to earn salvation by works of righteousness which are required to enter purgatory. And then more whatever to enter heaven.
English

“And you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience, among whom we all also formerly conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”

If you go to an Orthodox or Roman Catholic Church, you're sitting amongst people who think they can earn God's Grace, through "sacrements" administered by another man.
That's found nowhere in the New Testament Church in the Holy Writ.
Everyone thinks everyone amongst them is a "Sheep" seeking to "please" God simply for being around other people who thinks everyone is a "Sheep."
No Soteriological testimony whatsoever other than..."I got water baptized and partook of communion." That is found NOWHERE in the New Testament Holy Writ on how someone becomes a "son of God according to God's Sovereign Grace.
A son of God sitting in one of these synagogues of Satan is quenching the Spirit of Christ that lives inside of you. You will feel so out of place because youre a Sheep amongst Goats and Wolves on an Alter sacrificing unto devils.
Now, some of you are going to say..."Who are you to judge, Manny?" "You cant judge who are Goats and who isn't!"
Friend, you do realize if you're not a member of their occult, and you do not adhere to their doctrines of men...you are "Anathematized" by them. They are calling you the "Goat." They literally curse you to hell if you do not adhere to their doctrines, in their dogma.
So, before you judge me on "being judgmental," ask yourself this question..... Either a born from above elect son of God with the Spirit, as I am by God's Sovereign Grace, is worshipping in a strong delusion, or...these man centered, free will idol worshippers who are attempting to be what the sons of God are REAL LIFE, are under a strong delusion. One thing is for certain...we both can't be True, and I could not step foot in one of those idol worshipping dens of thieves.

@rickbrennanjr @calvinrobinson So basically, Catholics are still living in the Old Testament.
English

@rickbrennanjr @calvinrobinson Pastor Rick is right.
Jesus Christ, our High Preist, put the OT priesthood out of work because animal sacrifice has ceased.
There's only the Royal Priesthood of believers and our High Preist now.
English

In the Bible we see diakonos (Deacons) as servant ministers, presbyteros (Presbyters/Priests) as ordained teachers who preside over the Sacraments, episkopos (Bishops) who excercise oversight (overseers) and the fullness of Holy Orders.
Protestant “pastors” are somewhere between presbyteros and episkopos coopting the title of shepherd, but they are not ordained into Holy Orders. They have no Apostolic Succession. The deposit of faith is missing in its fullness.
Therefore, when a Catholic or Orthodox Christian refers to a Protestant as “pastor” he is being polite, he is not recognising or submitting to any spiritual authority, as the Church teaches there is none there outside of that which all Christians have in the royal priesthood of all believes (i.e. all fathers are the spiritual leaders of their household.) but not the ministerial/sacerdotal priesthood.

That poorly translated passage does not declare the weekly Sabbath day to be annulled, abrogated, or changed in any way.
Here's how it actually reads:
Col 2:16 Therefore, do not allow anyone to judge you in eating or in drinking, or with regard to a festival, or new month, or the Sabbaths,
Col 2:17 Which are a foreshadow of the things that are coming, but the body of Christ.
Paul is telling new converts that they are not to allow those outside the body of Messiah to judge them for keeping the holy days, including the weekly Sabbath day, which wad blessed and made holy at creation as an eternal memorial.
God does nothing without first telling His prophets, as Amos tells us, and not prophet ever said anything about the weekly Sabbath day being changed or made unholy. Only lying Christians do that.
In fact: the prophets warn us of apostate churches ignoring the Sabbath in these end times, and prove to us that the blessings for keeping the Sabbath day holy are still in place.
Ezk 22:26 Her priests have done violence to My law and have profaned My holy things. They have put no difference between the holy and the profane, and have not taught the difference between the unclean and the clean, and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
Isa 56:3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to Yehovah, speak, saying, Yehovah hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
Isa 56:4 For thus saith Yehovah unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
Isa 56:5 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
Isa 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to Yehovah, to serve him, and to love the name of Yehovah, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
Isa 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of Yehovah, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Isa 58:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in Yehovah; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of Yehovah hath spoken it.
Messiah Yeshua himself tells us we must keep the commandments in order to receive the Holy Spirit of truth and enter into life. It's the 4th commandment of the holy marriage contract, the very covenant that Messiah refreshed in his precious blood, and it is still inside the ark of the covenant: the covenant by which we shall be judged
Rev 11:18 For the nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, and the time for the dead to be judged, and to give reward to Your servants the prophets, and to the saints, and to all those who fear Your name, the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth.
Rev 11:19 And the temple of God in heaven was opened, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple; and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunders, and an earthquake and great hail.
Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who keep His commandments, that they may have the right to eat of the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.
"If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."

This is Calvinist James White.
He preaches against the finished work of Christ present in the Catholic Mass.
Watch how we quote five Bible verses proving James White wrong yet again.
Catholics only: You will want to bookmark this as you read to the end because you can use it to preach the Gospel to your separated Protestant brethren.
Hebrews 10:14
James White says the Mass “does not perfect anyone for whom it is made.”
The Bible says, “By one offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.”
Who do you trust? The Bible, right?
Perfected. For all time. Already done.
Being sanctified. Right now. Ongoing.
One verse. Finished work and ongoing application.
The Mass is how the finished work reaches you in time.
Hebrews 7:25
James White says ongoing intercessory work means the work isn’t finished.
The Bible says, “He always lives to make intercession for them.”
Who do you trust? The Bible, right?
Always. Present tense. Forever.
Ongoing intercessory work is what the finished work does.
1 Corinthians 11:26
James White says the Mass fails to proclaim what Christ accomplished on the cross.
The Bible says, “As often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.”
Who do you trust? The Bible, right?
The Mass is the proclamation.
Every Mass. Until he comes back.
Romans 8:24
James White mocks a priest for saying “I hope to be” the blessed man of Romans 4.
The Bible says, “For in hope we were saved.”
Who do you trust? The Bible, right?
The priest quoted Paul. In Romans. To the Romans.
1 Corinthians 9:27
James White demands certainty no faithful Catholic will claim.
The Bible says, “Lest, after preaching to others, I myself should be disqualified.”
Who do you trust? The Bible, right?
Paul. The man who wrote Romans 4. Refusing the certainty White demands.
White’s test for assurance disqualifies the apostle who wrote the chapter.
Five verses. One Bible. His.
The finished work of Christ is present on every Catholic altar on earth right now.
Catholics, here is what to do with this.
Pick one Evangelical friend. One you actually love.
Pick one of these five verses. The one that hit you hardest.
Send it to them gently. No fight. No tone. Just the verse and a sentence about what it shows you.
Then invite them to Mass. Tell them you want them to hear the Gospel proclaimed the way Paul described it in 1 Corinthians 11:26.
The proclamation is on the altar.
Bring them home.
