An update on my reading of Being Elisabeth Elliot… I am still working away on the book as I have time, but honestly, it is a miserable task. Overall, I am thoroughly displeased with this author’s handling of Elisabeth’s life. It is a great shame that we waited for a biography of this influential woman for this long, and the job has ended up being so badly botched. There is still a need for a good biography of Elisabeth Elliot to be written. Every colored tab you see in the photo here notes one of my concerns or gripes!

Shit like this is why I NEVER left mine alone with doctors or dentists I left a pediatric dentist when he told me his policy was parents wait outside I told him, I’m his mother and MY POLICY is to not leave my kid alone with strangers - told him I DIDN’T KNOW or trust him and frankly concerned that he wanted alone time with children - then WALKED OUT

THIS IS HORIFFIC!! Paediatrician Earl Bradley raped and sexually abused 103 children, including babies as young as three months old, while their parents waited just outside the exam room. The Delaware doctor filmed himself carrying out the sickening attacks on hidden cameras. He would force the terrified children to perform sex acts on him, molest them repeatedly, and sometimes abuse the same child for months or even years. One victim was raped continuously from June 2007 to February 2009. Another was molested non-stop from November 2008 to November 2009. Over 13 hours of horrifying video evidence was later discovered. He has been jailed for 14 consecutive life sentences plus 165 years. This is one of the worst stories I've ever read

@BiblicalBeauty Reading this one bothered me as well…I couldn’t quite put my finger on why. I definitely thought the authors “dislike” of Elisabeth showed.. As someone who loves reading biographies on saints who have gone before us…this one felt discouraging rather than encouraging 💔

@sweatystartup I take care of an Airbnb for a contractor I clean for. We live in a small university town & rent mostly to athletes families. I spoil them with plenty of everything! I even leave bottled water & bags of ice they’re welcome to use in their cooler for tailgating.

Rented a 7 bedroom mansion on Airbnb. Wish I would have rented a shitty hotel room.

These little things add to the overall experience… so it’s a BIG mistake to ignore these basic, reasonable requests from the paying guests. Maybe charge the stuff at cost price if your income margin is tight. But don’t ruin the tourist experience over these things if you wanna stay in homestay business with ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Take the feedback and improve your services.

@sweatystartup Why the heck are you bothering the property owner about trash bags? That’s not how AirBnB works in my expertience! If you run through their supply you go out and buy more or Instacart it. Takes 2 minutes of your time. Is there a real complaint about the property?

@sweatystartup I rented an Airbnb in Norway in November. Great house, enjoyed all of it, except: Went to take a shower. No towels. Anywhere. Not even a hand towel. I messaged the host. I was told I could ‘rent’ a towel for 5 euros. Left a two star review.

@sweatystartup When a host acts like this I will absolutely not leave anything behind that I buy that should be included like toilet paper . Omg . I will take it with me or throw it away before I do that

@AvbNear @sweatystartup it’s not being petty. These are basics that’s should be supplied if you are paying a small fortune in rental fees . What is petty is not supplying more than one trash bag if you are paying 3-5k for a rental

@sweatystartup TBH you are both being petty. You buy a bunch of trash bags for a couple of dollars. Get them delivered. Enjoy life. Instead you humble brag on X about renting a mansion but not being resourceful enough to solve something so mundane

@SyndicateTrades @sweatystartup It's 100% your responsibility to provide trash bags. Do you make them provide toilet paper, paper towels, dishsoap etc? I'd leave the trash in the garbage can with no bag before I provided our RENTAL with basic necessities.

@sweatystartup As an Airbnb host, it’s not our job to supply you! Like the lady said you’re getting a starter kit once that’s gone you fend for yourself. You want housekeeping you stay at a hotel. People that get on Airbnb expect hotel hospitality, They are not the same.
