@LevAkabas It seems to me that as big a deal here is how many picks go into the lottery—the existing system is just top 4 and then reverse order from there, but the new system is for the full top 12-16(?). Any ideas on how to visualize those changes?

Earlier this week, I broke fast at Rikers Island with New Yorkers in custody, Department of Correction staff, Commissioner Stanley Richards, and Councilmember Yusef Salaam.
It was a night that will stay with me for quite some time. People sharing what little they have: breaking bread, offering prayer, making space for one another’s dignity even in the hardest place.
In a system too often defined by what it takes, I was reminded of what it means to give—mercy, dignity, and humanity.
May we extend that mercy as far as we can. Eid Mubarak to all.

One of the more interesting parts of the new CBA is that WNBPA seems to have secured backpay for retired WNBA players. What they get:
$100,000 for retirees with 12+ years of service
$50,000 for retirees with 8-11 years of service
$30,000 for retirees with 5-7 years of service

Sun fans deserve better. Ownership had a competitive offer on the table that kept the team local, and the league rejected that in favor of its own (less lucrative) deal for an “up next” NBA owner. Would love to see a W team return to Houston, but not like this.

Insanely, submitting your past 5 years' social media to enter the U.S. as a tourist is only a small part of the proposed upcoming requirements. You'll also need to give your DNA (!) among many other new requirements. All the additional info you'll need to give as a tourist eligible for ESTA (meaning those tourists who don't need a visa, for instance from EU, UK, Australia, Japan, and other Visa Waiver countries): - All social media accounts from the last 5 years - All your biometrics: face, fingerprint, DNA, and iris - All your phone numbers from the last 5 years - All your email addresses from the last 10 years - IP addresses and metadata from your submitted photos - Names of your family members (parents, spouse, siblings, children) - All your family members' phone numbers from the last 5 years - Your family members' dates of birth - Your family members' places of birth - Your family members' residencies - All your business phone numbers from the last 5 years - All your business email addresses from the last 10 years If you do need a visa (i.e. non ESTA), I imagine the requirements are going to be far more drastic.
