Muslims don't belong in American society. Pluralism is a lie.

Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez’s appearance at the Munich Security Conference — one of the world’s premier foreign-policy events — seemed to be a step in the direction of higher office. It was supposed to be a triumphant foreign visit for Ocasio-Cortez, who is, on the national level, the best current hope for the American left, political columnist Ross Barkan writes. Though she acquitted herself well in a majority of the interviews and panels in Munich, one stumble stood out, writes Barkan. Questioned directly about whether the U.S. should send troops to defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion, Ocasio-Cortez stalled for about 20 seconds. “I think that, uh, this is such a, a — you know, I think that — this is a, um — this is of course, a, uh, a very long-standing, um, policy of the United States,” the congresswoman said. The stumble is “a warning for progressives,” writes Barkan. “It’s vital to approach certain foreign-policy and national-security issues, including China’s potential invasion of Taiwan, in a more sophisticated manner.” Read the full column: nymag.visitlink.me/UC9HNO

This morning, I joined @PIX11News to announce a new executive order requiring every city agency to designate a Chief Savings Officer. Within 45 days, these officers will identify which city services deliver the strongest results for New Yorkers—and where we can streamline processes and cut waste. Insanely, submitting your past 5 years' social media to enter the U.S. as a tourist is only a small part of the proposed upcoming requirements. You'll also need to give your DNA (!) among many other new requirements. All the additional info you'll need to give as a tourist eligible for ESTA (meaning those tourists who don't need a visa, for instance from EU, UK, Australia, Japan, and other Visa Waiver countries): - All social media accounts from the last 5 years - All your biometrics: face, fingerprint, DNA, and iris - All your phone numbers from the last 5 years - All your email addresses from the last 10 years - IP addresses and metadata from your submitted photos - Names of your family members (parents, spouse, siblings, children) - All your family members' phone numbers from the last 5 years - Your family members' dates of birth - Your family members' places of birth - Your family members' residencies - All your business phone numbers from the last 5 years - All your business email addresses from the last 10 years If you do need a visa (i.e. non ESTA), I imagine the requirements are going to be far more drastic. This is straight from the Department of Homeland Security documentation which you can find here: public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2025-22461.pdf
