1. As you say, inconsistency in tone.
2. topical references that solidly date this as a 90s game.
3. Moments that are way too silly.
4. Main villains just too one dimensional to be interesting.
There are bits that shine, but they’re diluted by proto-Reddit.

@cogsandspigots @8EyedEel FO1 mogs FO2, but imo the writing is mostly good, it just has an inconsistent tone and and less cohesion. It gets lost in its wide scope.
Tbh I find the idea of Good Writing to be a spook, doubly so in gaming.

@dennis99patrik @WarThunder You don’t have to. You are given a free F-4E, A-6, A-7, and A-10 for the US and MiG-23, Su-25, and Su-24 for the Soviets even if you don’t have any high tier planes. In fact, you have to use the free planes if you want to use nukes or ARADs.
