@TheStingisBack Grossly underrated film. So many layered storylines. Should have been nominated for an Oscar.
One of the coolest things about the movie is the screenplay was written by Bill Lancaster - son of Burt.
Also in true 70s style, the hero of the story has to lose - See Rocky et all.

@CinemaTweets1 I don't find Will Ferrell funny, but his success is undeniable.
English

Will Ferrell went on a run in the ‘00s that I’m not sure Ferrell or any other comedian for that matter could ever touch again. If you look back on the entire decade, Ferrell was absolutely everywhere & involved in the funniest films of that era, not to mention he was one of SNL’s best cast members. Kicking & Screaming is an example of Ferrell’s dominance at the time.

@PokerCapone To Deeb's credit he said that the time banks benefit the amateurs cause they won't stall for a pay jump or run the numbers on decisions.
English

@MLB Why do you have to post spoilers in the Youtube headline for the Home Run Derby? Unfortunately we can't all watch it live so why not put Semi-Final and Final in the header?

@wasy8 @JamieKerstetter It's actually kinda amazing that they are playing for millions of dollars and need to be their own police.

@JamieKerstetter Everyone on the WSOP staff needs a full retraining. Embarrassing

@uniformcritic To Jackson's credit folks said the steroid era did hurt anyone he was like yes it did. It hurt me and my legecy. Fair point. Love those 70s unis.

@feyiszn I'm an introvert. I always felt that socializing drained me while it appears to energized extroverts. That was the big difference to me.
English

@OleTimeHardball Fun fact: It was originally written for Pete Rose. Thankfully, filming took place in August '79, and we got Kareem instead.
Easily a top 3 sports star cameo, if not #1.

@CuriosityonX Are you kidding?
When they drove by, they locked the windows and sped off.

@Pokerella @jaredjaffee21 How is this even a thing? Guy who had aces even said she said count. The flow however unfortunate makes sense too.
English

Lol at anyone that thinks this was an angle @jaredjaffee21 .
I rewatched her verbalization 8x over as well as the whole clip. She clearly points and says “count” with an accent. As SOON as the dealer gets it wrong and says “call”, she re-repeats “count” more clearly.
(Maybe it’s clear to me because I grew up “Asian” but it had a clear “ow” inflection, compared to if she was “calling”, it would’ve had an “ah” inflection.)
Also, when you say she has “done the exact same thing before”- what do you expect her to do, change her accent? Also VERY standard to instinctively ask someone for a count as soon as someone shoves, esp in a very high pressure situation.
WSOP - World Series of Poker@WSOP
Did This Misunderstanding Cost Him a Double Up? On Day 6 of the Main Event, Kevin Ordet moved all in against Congya Zhang. Zhang asked for a count, but the dealer misheard her request, leading Ordet to prematurely show his hand. Watch the WSOP Main Event stream LIVE NOW on ESPN digital and YouTube in select territories.

@dividendology Founder, Phil Knight stepped completely away in 2016.
5 years of poor decisions.
5 years of inevitable decline.

@bennyrogers188 @TheCinesthetic I've listened to the background chatter before. In my interpretation, Mr Pink gets away. He ends up being a waiter at Jack Rabbit Slims.
English

@coldebella @TheCinesthetic Mr Pink gets arrested. You can hear it in the background just after he leaves in the final scene.

@shaundeeb Who is the problem? Short stacks in general or a specific type of player? Is there an alternate solve?

@ProCyclingStats I don't mind the ads but recently pop-ads will appear on-screen then make accessing the site impossible.

@nut_history Nuanced answer & she's not picking up what he's saying. He played with other elite "athletes" and compared to them he wasn't "athletic" but his skill set was legendary. Athletically, he's in the top 99% but he's comparing himself to the 99.7% At least that's my take.
English

Randy Johnson's daughter asks him if he ever wishes he was athletic. This is obviously a daughter goofing around with her dad, but if it adds any additional context, Willow Johnson is a professional volleyball player and an athlete in her own right. She's also 6'3".
Love the banter between the two. Great dad/daughter moment and best thing you’ll see today.
