Two takeaways from the Irish Presidential election: 1. Any illusion that British or Protestant heritage would be valued in a united Ireland is gone. 2. With turnout at 45% and 12% of ballots spoiled, voters clearly found little worth voting for. Abysmal day for abolitionists.

It would be important for the Connolly campaign to recognise the role in her victory played by the Mayo Burkes, Alan Kelly, Declan Ganley, Alison O’Connor, John Lee, Bertie Ahern, Mary Harney, Young Fine Gael, Micheal Martin, and above all else Ivan Yates. Thanks to all 💪💪💪
