@NathanD_17 @flugenhof Property taxes here don't pay for roads, my vehicle registration and gas tax do. Should I have to pay for police and fire while the dude living in mom and dad's basement doesn't?

if you are on so tight a fixed income due to extremely advanced age that you cannot afford $400 a month, you can simply sell the house you bought for $8000 in 1963 for $1.5m and do literally whatever you want until you drop dead in the lap of luxury unseen by anyone in history
Ashley Schendel@ashleyschendel

A paid off house should actually feel paid off. When the average property tax bill is $4,427 and keeps climbing even if you didn’t sell, refinance, or magically get richer, it’s not hard to see why people feel like they never fully own the place they worked for.

@coltersgeneral1 @NathanD_17 @flugenhof There is no “fair share” of property tax holy shit what do you not understand? Do you think the costs to maintain your local community are going down or being eliminated because enough people have lived in the same house for “enough time”

@LLLLets_Shadles @NathanD_17 @flugenhof If I live to be 80 I'll have paid $48,000 more property tax than a guy who lived with his parents until he was 30. Either I paid my fair share long ago or he never did. Either way I'm punished for making something of my life and he's rewarded for bumming.

@BnejiBneji5 @flugenhof Yeah, but Ive been a home owner since I was 25 years old. Meanwhile some other guy is 30 and still lives with his parents and pays no property tax. I'm being punished for making something of my life. He's not contributing anything to the school system.

@NathanD_17 @flugenhof But I'll have paid a whole lot more of it than someone buying their first house at my age that lived with their parents until they were 30. After a certain amount of years I think a person has paid their fair share.

@lanechanged You think it should be cheaper for them to slice up the chicken for you than to just sell you the whole chicken?

I simply don’t give a fuck about someone needing to pay $400/month on their paid off home to maintain the roads, emergency services, schools, and critical infrastructure around their property.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: A lot of “mental health issues” disappear when bills are paid, rent is secure, and the fridge is full. Peace is expensive. And pretending money doesn’t affect mental health is privilege.

THE THINGS I DON’T DEBATE WITH MEN : 1. Abortiôn 2. Breastfeeding 3. Menstruation 4. Female body hair 5. Birth Control 6. Access to feminine hygiene products Because NONE of those involve the male body and therefore don't create any valid MALE OPINIONS

@thecostofwork @invis4yo Yep. When women entered the workforce the standard raised to two incomes, leaving single people and families with only one working person behind.

@invis4yo It wasn't always like this. Forty hours a week used to cover a house, a car, a family and a retirement. The hours haven't changed. What they purchase has. The insane part isn't the 40 hours. It's that 40 hours stopped being enough and nobody can tell you exactly when or why.

@IsacSamil @bangersnmash_0 @Lockenloadshow @ElGranSenglar I'm also curious, if Obamacare had been full on socialized Healthcare, you'd be fine with Trump and a republican lead congress being in charge of your healthcare right now? Because that will be reality unless you think only leftists will win elections from now on.

@jaysbookman You act like only rich people own houses. Raise taxes and you'll see a lot of middle class people who worked hard for the dream of a house lose it. You'll punish a young middle-class family like mine who bought an expensive house and now kill them with taxes.

Abolishing property taxes lifts the financial burden off those who own property and shifts it to those who do not own property. Given current wealth distribution, that’s a pretty bad idea.
Grant Cardone@GrantCardone

🚨 DONALD TRUMP DEMANDS ‘NO MORE PROPERTY TAXES ACROSS THE UNITED STATES!’ You can’t hate this! President Trump launches national revolution to abolish property taxes which would result in the most powerful economic expansion in U.S. history.
