harris literally said out loud on live television that she couldn't think of something she would have done differently from the deeply unpopular president that voters were screaming at for years not to run again
Jesse Brenneman@Jesse_Brenneman

The excitement of Biden stepping down and Kamala getting the nomination was all about the feeling that this was something new and that things could change. The Harris campaign in the months between then and the election seemed determined to beat back that premise.

An underrated argument for libertarianism is that you’d experience less anxiety about elections if the state had less power

I think the midwit meme is a big part of how people like Elon rationalize things. Yes they're in coalition with the dumbest people in the world, but they're separate from those people, super geniuses who just happened to come to the same conclusions

@nikillinit @pavelow_pr I'm not familiar with how the AMA works. Do doctors have a say in residency caps (like via voting)? If the younger generation is against them, how long would it take to change?

@pavelow_pr yes I agree - though fwiw most younger docs do not agree with the AMA on basically anything (anecdotally) and that includes residency caps

this is something I've pretty commonly heard from both older docs - "young people don't work nearly as much, when I did residency... and younger docs - "medicine is a job and I'm setting boundaries" (also worth noting many of them are not owners of their practice or have agency over their time if they're employed by hospitals) maybe it'll be the norm to have physicians work fewer hours per physician but have other jobs/hobbies. We'll either need way more physicians or nurse practitioners to fill in the gaps, but it would spread the work out even if each individual doc made less

@dick_nixon Does the Rs front loading early voting backfire? It gives the Reid machine a number they need to hit. Easier to feel confident with your GOTV with a target.

I like Ralston. We use his information here. As I said, I waver on Nevada in deference to him. Without making a prediction I think he's missing that the so-called rural "Red Wall" is tapped out. They have already voted. And how will the same day/DMV votes break?
