Veterans’ mental health was discussed last week in the House of Commons, with cross-party recognition of the importance of supporting those who have served. During the discussion, MPs also highlighted the value of the cadet forces and the wider military community, a reminder of the lifelong connection many people have with service and those who serve. We’re grateful to Tracy Gilbert MP for raising March in March during the debate and helping shine a light on the importance of ensuring veterans can access specialist treatment and support when they need it. Yesterday at our Glasgow Hub, we were pleased to welcome @GraemeDeyMSP, Minister for Parliamentary Business and Veterans. The Minister visited to announce Scottish Government funding towards Combat Stress' services in Scotland. This support will help ensure that veterans in Scotland can access specialist, evidence-based treatment when they need it. During the visit, the Minister met with our clinical team and took part in discussions about the challenges veterans face and how Combat Stress treatment is transforming lives. He also heard directly from a veteran who shared their experience of treatment. We’re extremely grateful to the Scottish Government for helping us to continue our specialist support for veterans’ mental health and to everyone involved in the visit.
