At the “Made in Naija” Trade Exhibition hosted by Hon. Ahmed Munir, we were reminded of who we are as a nation creative, resilient, and unapologetically proud of our own.
Earlier, a walk through the National Assembly Library and its historic archives showed a clear pattern: Nigeria has always moved forward when its people especially its women—lead, trade, and build.
Today’s women in business continue that legacy, driving exports, shaping markets, and proving that the Nigerian spirit is built on innovation, courage, and possibility.
“Made in Naija” is not just an exhibition. It’s our story—past, present, and rising.

It is important to mention that we have come a long way, but we still have more road to travel in order to reach our destination as a nation. It is paramount that @nassnigeria @HouseNGR, @officialABAT led admin, @TradeInvestNG @joduwole working with agencies such as @OfficialNEPC @fccpcnigeria @nipcng, the private sector and the whole lot work in unison while avoiding working in silos, to ensure;
1. Establishment of a weights and measures institute to ensure quality, fair trade, and international certification from the farm gate to the world's doorstep.
2. Proper implementation of trade agreements such @AfCFTA @AfCFTANG, @AGOAinfo, and ensuring the dormant agreements yet to be signed between Nigeria and entities such as EU, Turkey, Mexico and friendly countries see the light of day.
3. Ensure key infrastructure, including but not limited to Restoration of Lake Chad to enhance security, encompassing climate and food security, construction of the Lagos-Abidjan super highway with transshipment to Cape Verde, construction of the Ouagadou-Maiduguri super highway, working in conjunction with @ecowas_cedeao @ECOWASParliamnt
@BIDC_EBID
4. Without reinventing the wheel, through the existing Nigeria Infrastructure Fund @nsia_nigeria , make provision for states that provide a detailed and approved plan to fund generation and transmission of power using the full potential of the Electricity Act 2023.
These are just some of the reforms and programs that the federal government is working with the 10th Assembly @Speaker_Abbas @SPNigeria to put in place for growth of commerce in the non-oil export sector to improve the standard of living in Nigeria.

On a Sunday, November 27th, 1977, the first Lagos International Trade Fair was held. 47 years later, virtually half a century, and we are yet to reach our full potential of showcasing made-in-Nigeria products to expand our global market reach.
It is on this note that I commend the @officialABAT administration and @VeraNdanusa led @LITFCMB team for the revival of this international event that is set for November 2024 after a prolonged break over the years. With strong commitment from all relevant stakeholders, I truly believe not only in the restoration of LITFC's glory but rather to catapulting it to greater heights.
@Speaker_Abbas of the 10th @HouseNGR and the @commercecom_HOR view this critical sector as a means to combat poverty and create jobs by empowering our producers and entrepreneurs to be active players in the global supply chain.
