"We do not need all those dollars." Tax hikes and higher costs aren't inevitable — they're a result of bad priorities. Our priorities are simple: 🏢Funding local governments 📉Lowering taxes & utility rates 🏗️Maintaining critical infrastructure 🛡️Protecting & securing programs to help people in need ⚖️Holding departments accountable for their use of taxpayer money @commishfriz
Michigan House Republicans@MI_Republicans

House Republicans are tackling the affordability crisis by addressing the biggest costs first: 💡Utility rates 🏡Property taxes 📈Hidden costs that put homeownership out of reach Our plans save families $1,400 a year, lower and freeze utility rates, and help people to be able to afford a home. @commishfriz

Michigan government has grown over 40% in recent years while taxpayers foot the bill. That's not right. We're changing the way Lansing budgets in order to make government smaller than last year (for the second year in a row), cut taxes, bring accountability, and go after departments for abusing taxpayers' trust. Less spending. Better value. It's time for government to tighten its belt. @commishfriz

Blinded, nameless, bloated pork spending is one of the reasons why the MI budget grew 17% in 2023 & 24. Can't wait to see the elected names who orchestrated this monstrosity. HEAT brought sunshine and a huge decrease in pork spending within the budget. The AG is right on this.

Packed house last night supporting @commishfriz. Democrats have made his seat their top target this cycle for a reason — Steve’s a conservative fighter who gets results. Proud to stand with him!

Michigan Dem. U.S. Senate candidates: 1 hates Jews (and probably Christians), capitalism, main stream Dems. Another thinks Michiganganders could "learn a lot from costal elites". The Dem precint delegates booed the third one off the stage at their nomination convention.

@Zigmanfreud The win highlighted today's "college" sports. Multiple transfers, NIL and coaches being canned mid-season. College sports, especially basketball and football, are nothing less than the NBA & NFL minor leagues. Playing within today's reality; Dusty May did it best. GO BLUE

@donwinslow It's transitory...you remember those statements in 2022-2024? Except gas prices will be, unlike inflation which was not under President Biden. Remember now?

Donald Trump and Republican extremists started a reckless war of choice in the Middle East. Gas prices are way up, billions are being wasted and our country is less safe. We need regime change in America.

In the last year, we passed a repair plan for Michigan’s local roads, cut burdensome regulations to lower costs, & got cell phones out of the classroom. Ahead of Governor Whitmer's final State of the State Address, House Republicans are paving a way forward for Michigan: 🏡Property tax relief 💡Lower energy costs 📚Improving literacy in schools 💯Making government more efficient 🩺Healthcare transparency & affordability @commishfriz
Michigan House Republicans@MI_Republicans

The Michigan House was the ONLY chamber in the nation to flip from 🔵Democrat to 🔴Republican in 2024. We promised a return to the basics: 💸Affordability ⚖️Accountability 🛡️Safety 📚Education 🚧Fixing the roads. Fast forward to 2026, we've delivered for Michigan 🧵

Interesting… you’ll vote NO on tariffs meant to protect American industry, but where was this outrage when other countries imposed tariffs on American goods? Did you vote NO when Germany protects its industries? Did you vote NO when Canada uses tariffs and quotas? Did you vote NO when Brazil shields its markets? Did you vote NO when foreign governments tax American exports while expecting open access here? Every major economy uses tariffs as leverage and protection. Pretending tariffs are simply a “tax on consumers” ignores the strategic reality of trade negotiations and reciprocity. If other nations defend their workers and industries… why shouldn’t America? #SilentMajoritySpeaks #AStoneGroove

I will vote NO on Trump’s tariffs when they come up for a vote in the Senate. Why on earth would I support a new 15% tax on virtually everything you buy? Things are expensive enough to begin with.

Systemic mismanagement all across state departments. Thankfully, our House Oversight Committees are identifying these issues. Change comes slowly or not at all under Dem leadership. Power of the purse should not be the only impetus for change. michigancapitolconfidential.com/news/mileaps-c…
