@49ers_Access John Lynch hasn't played strong Safety since 2007, but Aiyuk is the latest - and probably last - receiver he's gonna blow up.

I don’t think Brandon Aiyuk realizes the 49ers are more than willing to play this game with him for the remainder of his contract. If he’s adamant on never doing business with SF, they’ll gladly let him post on social media through 2028 and recollect his entire contract.

@HarryBerezin Yeah. In the end, just as in the beginning, this all falls on him. He's got to step up. Somehow, I think he won't - but maybe if he gets word a trade to the Commanders hinges upon him doing so, he will. But we know Peters isn't dumb - and won't race to make a bad trade.

The 49ers haven't cut Brandon Aiyuk because he is currently on the Reserve/Left Squad list, meaning his contract is effectively frozen and he is not costing the team a roster spot or any salary. Additionally, Aiyuk has yet to submit the reinstatement paperwork required to return to the NFL. That's why Commanders fan. 49ers aren't holding him into hostage at all.

@1067theFan Or Peters trades for him. More than one option here. But neither party appear serious about making this happen: BA hasn’t applied for reinstatement, and Peters hasn’t made a trade. So, it’s just noise and social media clicks. Not the Niners problem.

At some point Brandon Aiyuk just needs to step up and force the 49ers hand.
