I didn’t really understand @LowEffortPunks at first, but the more I looked into it, the more fascinating it became YO!! It’s a collection of 10,000 hand-drawn 1/1 artworks created over 796 days, from April 30, 2021 to July 5, 2023. There were probably ups and downs in pace, but on average that means around 12 pieces were drawn every single day. Each piece was basically drawn as a rough, “low effort”-style hand-drawn counterpart to a specific CryptoPunk. On the dedicated site loweffortpunks.art, you can check which Punk each one matches with, the creation date, traits, transaction history, and even what was posted on Twitter when it was made. The Low Effort Punk #8807 that I bought was marked as being “born” on July 5, 2023. That was the same day the artist finished drawing all the way up to the final #9999. When I looked into it more closely, I realized that on the previous day, July 4, only a single piece — #6765 — had been drawn. Which means that on July 5 alone, they completed 3,234 pieces in one day, from #6766 to #9999. If we assume it took 10 hours, that would mean around 323 drawings per hour, or about 5–6 drawings per minute. And they even minted them all. That’s not “Low Effort” at all… That’s pure Hard Effort. Personally, I want to call those final 3,234 pieces drawn on that last day “Hard Effort Punks.” Now that I know this story, I’m even happier that I was able to get one from that final day. Also, through the site, I found out that the original source was CryptoPunk #5471, so I got to actually go see the original and have that “OHHH, SO THIS IS IT!!” moment in real life too. I’m grateful that @goroishihata led me to discover such an incredible NFT project like Low Effort Punks. I really love how facts etched into transactions can make you imagine all kinds of hidden drama and stories behind them. NFTs really are impossible to quit. BIG RAMEN.

My immediate thoughts since we launched the @pumpcade open beta a few hours ago:
1. The reception from users is incredible. It's already far surpassing our expectations.
As a founder, you spend months and months building your vision with your team, and can sometime have tunnel vision on your product. You see it one way, and don't really know what real users will actually think of the product.
The entire Pumpcade team is incredibly pleased to see the overwhelmingly positive feedback from early users.
2. The product is REALLY fun. This is the most common feedback we are getting from users. They love the product, the game loop, the speed.
Generally speaking, the bigger prediction markets are not "super fun" to use. They work extremely well, but their product is not built around being fun.
This is where Pumpcade is different. The fast paced 60 second markets allow us to build a much more interesting and "gamified" experience. This is only going to continue to improve as beta continues and we ship further updates.
3. All user feedback is incredibly valuable.
We have the intercom chat button on every page for a reason. If you see something you like, don't like, a bug, or are confused about something... LET US KNOW.
We are actively monitoring these chats and have already shipped a number of hot fixes/UI changes.
Closing Thoughts:
This really is just the beginning.
We know the product is still in an early and rough around the edges shape. We still have yet to fully polish the UI, add animations, effects, and even integrate the new V1 parimutuel protocol. But... we wanted to get users on the platform as early as possible to help shape the direction and experience of the product.
