Police in Polokwane, Limpopo, are investigating murder incidents after a woman [37] was allegedly stabbed to death and a man [34] was found hanging in an upmarket residential estate, Bendor Village on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.
According to police, a neighbour reportedly heard screams followed by a commotion at a nearby residence. Police have not ruled out the possibility of a domestic violence-related dispute.

Police in Limpopo have launched an intensive manhunt following the escape of a 34-year-old male suspect from lawful custody on Sunday, 26 April 2026.
According to preliminary reports, Tumelo Raledi escaped at approximately 21:30 while receiving medical treatment at Maphuta Malatji Hospital in the Mopani District. At the time of his escape, he was under police guard at the facility.
Raledi is considered dangerous and had been arrested in connection with serious violent crimes, including rape, attempted murder, and two counts of murder allegedly committed between 2023 and 2025 in the Namakgale policing area.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has strongly condemned the incident and assured the public that all available resources are being deployed to ensure the suspect is re-arrested without delay.

Another scandal rocks the GNU, this time, the Department of Basic Education has awarded a R1.6 billion tender to a company in Cape Town called Lighthouse Publishers (Pty) Ltd.
This company has no track record on such work.
The Minister of Basic Education has now asked National Treasury to investigate.
