This guy is using the left hand lane , which is open. There is a mile long backup and everyone is over in the right hand lane.
He drives all the way up until he has to merge.
Some people are saying what a jerk he is for not getting in line like everyone else, but a great many people are saying that the cars in the right lane merged into one lane too soon and that if they had used the left lane, instead of being a mile backup it would have been a half a mile backup.
What’s your take? Do you think he was correct in using the left lane and merging up at the front or should he have merged right and got in line way in the back like everyone else?

@1886Smith @CajunHuntress @MarindaVannoy1 You can’t force someone to hear you.
That whole line of thinking is wrong.
You should be thinking about how to make your message appealing to the intended audience.
English

@CajunHuntress @MarindaVannoy1 How to make a point then? So they hear you out
Fracking is real and hurting people and environment alike

One thing that's been frustrating for me, is that for some of the models when I'm trying to get it to do just regular research or do tasks for me is it talks to me like it is a human.
I'm happy to do do small talk, have turns of phrase, pleasantries with a human because they're a person. I don't want to exchange those things with a computer.
I don't like that it wastes my time and clouds the conversation with additional pleasantries and greetings. I want it to respond like a stupid bot with a bad robot voice and just get straight to the point. I'd like an "old school AI" version, like the kind that used to be in shows when we thought it'd be impossible to clone voices or get them to talk.

@GavinNewsom You let illegal aliens vote in elections. Nobody gives a shit about what you have to say.

@kangminlee they’re calling him the corniest man alive. the final boss of performative male feminist. the human brian griffin.

@EllesmereGaming I’m a professional software engineer. Don’t listen to random people about how you conduct your business or develop your product. They have no skin in the game and the loudest voices are unreasonable anyway.
You don’t have to be open source, free, and professionals do use AI.

Hey guys, quick update on EllesmereUI! This one’s less about features and more about AI. I know it’s is a touchy subject for many, so I want to be upfront about how much I’m using it. As EUI rapidly expands, I’ve found myself relying more heavily on AI. I’m putting in 16+hr a day, but even with dedicating my entire life to it, it’s just too massive to expand and maintain alone.
This doesn’t mean I’m not extremely hands on still, but it does mean that a large amount of the codebase is managed by AI, even if I am guiding and helping it and checking its work thoroughly. Since vibecoding is a hot topic around addon creation, and I’ve noticed myself leaning on AI more and more, I want to just keep you guys in the loop about EUI’s usage of AI.
On the results side tho, performance has never been better. Leveraging AI more has helped me push optimizations to extremes and improve overall stability. With proper guidance and oversight, it’s allowed me to start actually getting some sleep again (occasionally)
I get people can be hesitant about AI managed codebases, which is the purpose of this tweet. Hope this helps keep things transparent

@romxdev I still like it over most tempting languages. If you watch the “rethinking best practices” conference talk about react, every single point is as true today as it was back then.

@ThePrimeagen Openness to change as a hard thing to keep alive for a lot of people.

Its crazy how many people think slowly changing your mind and testing your theories is bad or makes you dumb.
ThePrimeagen@ThePrimeagen
I am slowly coming around to AI assisted programming. I am genuinely trying to codify every rule about programming that I have and using that + several stages to build out small changes. Not sure the productivity changes, but I think I can see a modest gain in speed. I am also trying to be concerned about every line produced, not just slop trebucheting code over the wall.
English

@ThePrimeagen I think, especially if you’re over 30, you may not realize how much it’s hindering you. Especially if you’ve never taken an extended break from regular drinking.
English

I have generally eliminated alcohol from my diet save for special occasions and i genuinely feel significantly better.
Bryan Johnson@bryan_johnson
Friends, stop drinking alcohol. Not cut back. Eliminate. > alcohol increases cortisol > disrupts REM sleep > accelerates epigenetic aging > shrinks hippocampal volume > elevates resting heart rate > raises inflammatory markers > impairs glucose metabolism for 16 hrs One drink does that.

@Grummz Yeah, people think Wow classic combat is slow. You should play some EverQuest.
A warrior has auto attack and kick and bash if you have a shield.
Now that sounds like a horrible game, but that’s the wrong framing. A lot of what you were doing was chatting in your group.
English

Actually, WoW was the first MMO to have quests as a mainline progression system.
The first people we had try the game were EverQuest players. They spent the whole time running around and farming mobs. Because that’s what MMOs were at the time, just that. Quests were a rare side thing.
I said “did you try the quests” and they said “what quests?”
The goal was to give you a constant 10 things to do, and to never let your quest log run out.
That changed everything at the time.

@unclebobmartin I am more satisfied with my work then I ever have been with the help of AI. I like programming. I like the details. I like the inner machinery.
But I love making peoples lives better more. And able to do that more now with the help of AI. I also find that I’m mentally fresher.
English

@cmuratori I’m confused. There was no explanation anywhere in that statement.
English

@Notwokenow And people still show up. It’s not for you. It’s for the fans.
