Vice President Vance warns that America can’t lead in AI unless it is "leading in energy production." Treasury Secretary Bessent calls power scarcity the “binding constraint” on an American AI boom. More on this — and its implications for America’s competition with the CCP — in the Washington Examiner: washingtonexaminer.com/restoring-amer…

The modern vision for reindustrialization that both sides of the aisle claim to want is alive and well in the Magnolia State, and @tatereeves is proving it. A welcoming business environment, an educated workforce, and a willingness to say "yes." Great piece by @Shawn_Regan.

Faulkner reportedly wrote, "To understand the world, you must first understand a place like Mississippi." It is a state that is often unfairly ridiculed or inappropriately romanticized. The truth is something more compelling.
Shawn Regan@Shawn_Regan

Not long ago, Mississippi was a byword for failure. It ranked at the bottom of national rankings for income, education, and health outcomes, a state that American elites reached for when they needed a cautionary tale. That image, Governor Tate Reeves would like you to know, is out of date. For @CityJournal, I spoke with @tatereeves about what Mississippi’s transformation reveals about American competitiveness, the politics of AI, and why he thinks opposition to technological progress amounts to “civilizational suicide.”

Mississippians are building Navy destroyers in Pascagoula, rolling steel in Columbus, testing rocket engines on the banks of the Pearl River, and welcoming a $20 billion data center investment in Southaven.

The next theater where this will matter most is the Arctic. Sea lanes are opening where ice reigned for millennia. Russia operates more than 40 icebreakers. China has at least five and is building more. The U.S. has three, one commissioned in 1976. I wrote about what's at stake for @dcexaminer. washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/445105…

Important piece by @SenToddYoung. 80% of American trade still moves by sea. Ships are the backbone of the global economy and the prerequisite for projecting power. China gets this. They now operate the world's largest commercial fleet and build more ships than anyone on earth.
Senator Todd Young@SenToddYoung

America’s freedom was won and our prosperity earned on the oceans. Our future depends on American ships taking to them once again. Read my @AmericanAffrs essay on why we must rebuild America’s sea power. americanaffairsjournal.org/2026/02/rebuil…

We must do more to remember our history. Iron from Minnesota's Mesabi Range forged the steel that won the Second World War. The Copper Kings of Butte powered America's electrification. The silver boom in Tombstone drew Wyatt Earp further west. Mining built this country.

@TheTungstenGuy forces us to ask why mining isn't "embedded in the American consciousness as it is for Canadians and Australians." Per the National Mining Association, it takes 7-10 years to permit a mine in the U.S. versus just 2 in those countries.
Bull Moose Institute@MooseInstitute

The Trump Administration has led to a resurgence of interest in the mining industry, specifically with rare earths and critical minerals. However, the majority of ownership and control over critical mineral deposits in the United States remains in the hands of foreign owned corporations. @TheTungstenGuy, CEO of Mithril Mining Corp, makes the case in the New Outlook that if public funds are being used to rebuild supply chains, American companies should be leading the charge.

“EXIM bank is the lynchpin towards our move of regaining our sovereignty over not only critical minerals, but semiconductors, medicines, and steel.” Thank you @Rep_Davidson and @SecScottBessent for highlight EXIM’s important role in strengthening American supply chains!
