The international community was central to the 2016 peace deal and that support is still needed today.
Today we said farewell to a dear friend and comrade, Mickey Brady.
A lifelong republican activist, he dedicated his life to his community, to equality, and to the promise of a United Ireland. He worked every day for the people of Newry-Armagh and for better future.
Above all, he was a devoted family man and a loving father. Our thoughts are with Caroline, his children, his family and all who loved him.
We are heartbroken by his loss but we celebrate a life well lived.
Rest well, Mickey. Your legacy will live on and always inspire us.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
💔 Slán le mo chara Mickey Brady. We have lost one of the very best. A lifelong Republican activist, a champion of people and community, a dedicated public representative as an MLA and MP, utterly committed to his home place of Newry and Armagh. He was believer in a better future, a United Ireland and an equal society.
Most of all, Mickey Brady was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Today our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Caroline, his family and all those who loved him.
Mickey will be greatly missed but remembered every day. His legacy will endure in the lives he touched, in the communities he strengthened, and in the better, fairer Ireland he worked for every day of his life.
