@deenafaywinter Downtown struggling, rent control crushed housing, budget up 44%, taxes and sales levies rising—and we’re handing out “job well done” bonuses on the way out? Come on.

What a good life. I'm struggling big time with parenting my wonderful teenagers (the adult two of whom aren't speaking with me), and it hurts like hell to let go of what I wanted parenting to look like... ... and the birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and I'm breathing.

@whale I need to create and stick to rules and non negotiables. Walking the dogs at a certain time. Stopping work to workout. Pit stops from work to even do pushups. Read physical books.

AI will burn us out as a society and species unless we adapt a new way of thinking about our effort. Currently most people think of work in amounts of time. People work from 9-5 because doing that for 5 days a week is considered "full time". If you've ever been an independent, you know that working by value means that when you've accomplished the value you promised, you can rest. So if you do it more efficiently, you can do other things. However, even independents fall back to scarcity thinking often (it's in our genetic code after all). If we were to think of work in units or blocks, then whether efficient or slow, I'm done when my block is finished. Then I might rest, play, live, breathe!

non-shitpost (sry): my buddy who is an exited founder scaled his newco from 0 to $4M ARR last year and on track to triple this year. Who are the best investor to talk to in GovTech that might be interested in chatting?

I married this gorgeous, smart, quirky, cute AF, character a little over a year ago and now I've taken her name. I'm officially Matthew Matsuzaki. Ako's had a challenging family story and has in many ways been alone without a family she can truly count on backing her up, standing up for her, rooting for her, challenging her, or taking care of her when things are hard. Despite that she's a little powerhouse of personality, skill, and story. Sometimes I see it better than she can, and that's what family is for. So I kicked tradition to the curb and took her name as my own. (Women have been doing this for ages). What a joy and privelage to partner with someone so full of love. Relationship is challenging because humans, but man I found me a great partner in crime. The way that Ako shows up (against her natural preferences) with willingness to grow, and willingness to practice... it's just, wow. I see you hun. I choose you again today. Pita pita.

@natehoodstp Agree wholeheartedly but I also think St. Paul should work towards a PILOT program like Boston does with its nonprofits. Shared responsibility in the community.

@natehoodstp Chicago developers largely have so much pride in the architecture of their buildings and the city is so much better off for it. Cheap, cookie-cutter, boring doesn’t fly there and I’m jealous.

Honest question: Why did the Ford Expedition have an Eddie Bauer edition back in the day? Were people like I love eddie bauer duffle bags - I want a ford like that too? Why hasn't Ford teamed up with Jimmy Choo or some other premium (non-speaker) company since then?

@BullyCreative My cousin teaches there. Teachers were directed to the high school where 5 ICE vehicles were in the otherwise empty parking lot. Pure intimidation.

Liam’s school just got a bomb threat today before school. Teachers were diverted to the high school. At least 5 ICE vehicles were in an otherwise empty parking lot. @OlenaRohoza

BREAKING: MAGA lunatics target Renee Good’s 6-year-old child by flooding his school with harassment and threats — forcing them to switch to online-only classes. If you were wondering how low MAGA outrage culture can sink, here’s your answer: they’re terrorizing a 26-student elementary school because a grieving 6-year-old goes there. After Minnesota mother Renee Good was shot and killed by a federal immigration officer, profit-hungry right-wing media and callous MAGA influencers didn’t stop at smearing her. They went after her son’s school, too. Southside Family Charter School, a small, community-centered K-5 school where kids eat meals together, mentor one another, and take field trips, was forced to move classes online after a flood of threats poured in. Why? Because the New York Post and MAGA social media mobs decided the school’s social justice curriculum made it a political target. Let that sink in: a school teaching kids empathy and history is now being treated like a crime scene. The school’s “offense”? Teaching about George Floyd’s murder. Posting a sign reminding ICE that they need a judicial warrant to enter. Encouraging staff to follow the law and protect students. In MAGA world, that’s apparently enough to justify threats, harassment, and calls to defund a school full of children. Right-wing accounts went full conspiracy mode, claiming without evidence that Renee Good was a “domestic terrorist,” that the school “trained” her to fight federal agents, and that her death was somehow justified. One TikTok pushing this garbage racked up more than 100,000 views. And then came the feckless politicians. Republican Rep. Buddy Carter of Georgia, safely hundreds of miles away, demanded that all federal funding be stripped from the school, calling it “anti-American.” Because nothing screams patriotism like punishing traumatized kids and educators for not worshipping ICE. This is the MAGA playbook in plain sight: Dehumanize the victim. Smear the community. Target the children. School leaders, who are trying to grieve while protecting their students, shut down social media and pulled their online presence just to stop the threats. Still, they emphasized what MAGA rage can’t erase — the fact that the community has rallied around them. This isn’t about safety. It’s not about education. It’s not about the law. It’s about sending a message: If you question authority, teach history honestly, or dare to humanize immigrants, MAGA will come for you—even if you’re a tiny school full of children mourning their friend’s mom. They silenced Renee Good with bullets; now they’re trying to silence her son’s classroom with false words. Please like and share to spread the disgust!

The magic of Claude isn't in building the next billion-dollar SAAS. That's where most people get it wrong. It's in building private, personal products that only you use that speed up your workflow and add quality to your life. And for that, it's absolutely magical.
