Again that can be your version of it. Before FFXIV I played a Korean MMO based on Ancient Korea that had never ending player power scaling so there was always that to fall back on and plenty of players doing the same. XIV doesn't need that but new content added should have some kind of life cycle that doesn't end after you complete it one time.

I've been playing FFXIV since 2013. I've seen the good the bad the stale and the stagnant parts of the game. Dawntrail has the most content we ever had. If you're not happy with something then it's time to let it go There's more to life than an MMO like FFXIV or WoW.

idk know who this person is, but someone sent me this tweet, and most of this will in fact be one and done lol - Cosmic's main audience are the autistic no-life crafters who will have their relics all done in a week - Leveling jobs in OC has almost zero tangible benefit outside of a stat boost which barely matters. - The towers will not take weeks to complete unless there's major issues with grouping (again 🙄) - If BST is anything like BLU, people will get their beasts, do some crucible, then drop it immediately - Ultimate doesn't appeal to the vast majority of people in the first place People like this guy will say that we're looking for things to nitpick about, but then they'll scrape the bottom of the barrel to find things to milk hopium from.

That can be your version of fun, but I mostly want to do recently added content that has reasons to farm it. And I wish content they added kept a structure that made farming it worth doing. Even with Advanced I have everything from it so there's not much reason to return. If it had some kind of weekly token for a piece of gear for my alts, it'd be something I'd do multiple times if required to earn it.

What incentive is there for me to repeat Q40? What does my character gain in terms of power in that content or glamour etc.? The answer is zero. A lot of the stuff I run is via PF, it's not through an FC. Q40 PFs don't really fill and they don't get much attention in Discords that were dedicated to it in the past because everyone who wanted to clear it and was competent cleared it. If you wanted to use your argument you could ask if everyone in an FC has cleared something like UWU. There's still incentive (glamour) for people to farm who've only cleared it once.

It's a lot of content but the stuff worth repeating like things in the past is a little lacking and it makes it hard to find others who want to farm the content. Two great examples: Q40 & Another Merchants Tale. Both are VERY fun to do, but there's no reason to repeat them because there's nothing to farm. Q40 is one and done for title and achievements. If you want to farm the shards from it you can do it by dropping difficulty. You can't even dye the weapons from Pilgrims :( Another Merchant's tale only has two rewards, a mount and a framer kit. Not many people want to grind out kills for those especially if they have all the weapons from Aloalo already. Compare that to Bozja & DRS where there was so much glamour to farm, upgrade materials to add dye channels to the Judge armors from FF12 etc.

@zanelionhartxiv I don't get people like this. Like, you can not like the content but this patch has objectively the most content of any 7.5 patch in an expansion that has, generally, given us the most content. 5.5 was just normal patch + Zadnor + Ishgard Fetes. EW was normal patch + Alo Alo.

I will say there's some stuff worth repeating but: OC is kinda a dud with the implementation and power fantasy. I've done 66 runs of FT but most who hit 100 never step in again so it's hard to find competent groups to get to 100 myself. Q40 was fun to do once but there's no reason for me to repeat it. Merchant Advanced is a great step between normal and extreme content and they need more content like it. Another Merchant I'm currently doing but after one clear I don't think there's much reason to repeat it, the Genie lamp just doesn't feel like something to chase (why the hell didn't they do more NEW weapon contest winner glamours???). I already have all the weapons from Aloalo and those were the reason why I ran Aloalo so many times. I've been sub'd consistently for 13 years, but it sucks that during those lulls it can be hard to find people to party up for more difficult content.
