I'm trying to find the exact moment the Liberals discovered they could just announce things, do literally nothing to fulfill the thing, and nobody would care.

@TristinHopper The international space station is about 400km above the earth, or about the drive from Vancouver to Kelowna. Without the bridge traffic.

This remote section of the Indian Ocean is the place on Earth where you are furthest from any Canadian territory. It's about 19,000 km away from Canada ... way further from Canada than any astronaut in low earth orbit, which is typically conducted at an altitude of about 2,000 km. So as Jeremy Hansen shatters the record for the furthest a Canadian has ever gotten from Canada, he's taking the title from the handful of Canadians who have ever sailed here.

@TristinHopper In 2022, the Office of the Sport Integrity Commissioner began operations to administer the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport until this responsibility was transitioned over to the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport, now Sport Integrity Canada

There are a lot of broken and dysfunctional institutions in Canada that we've kept around simply because they were still *somewhat* useful and we would have missed them if they were gone. Long term, we may thank leftists for obsessively wringing every last bit of utility from them.

3/9 Some in the social media sphere have mistakenly divided the overall program costs by the number of units being purchased - 30,000 general service rifles. In any military procurement there are always additional envelopes for spares, setup, administration, training and taxes

1/9 (A Thread) I very rarely do this but DND/PSPC/DIA left me no choice. What you’re about to read is an important accountability lesson for Canada’s government - in a space where tens of billions of dollars are being spent - or about to be spent.

@Murray_Brewster After the 2012 budget, I participated in 6 or 7 background calls with journalists on deficit-reduction program cuts. Any one who called got called back. And never one question, one follow up. Keep asking til all the questions were done. Several called twice.

8/9 Before political trolls light torches and grab pitchforks - we’ve seen this before - more than a decade ago with the previous government where journalists were forced to file ATIP requests to obtain basic budget information and get questions answered on program cuts.

@paulvieira I'm looking for anyone who can do the apples to apples calculation for inflation #'s. Not just USA to CAN. But 1980-Canada to 2026-Canada.

@TristinHopper The loss of lower wage employees will feed a new round of inflation as the increased labour costs filter into the economy over the next year. Life will materially change when deodorant breaks the $20 price point.

If you could calculate the externality costs of the migrant surge against the corporate profits it yielded, I'm guessing the ratios would be at least 10/1. $10 in damage through high rents, unemployment, etc. for every $1 it returned in cheap, disposable labour.
Tristin Hopper@TristinHopper

The weirdest part of this whole migrant surge is how blue-hair progressives have been actively providing cover for a plutocratic, cronyist plot to flood the country with infinity cheap labour. It's one of the most brazen examples I've seen in modern times of government policy where big business wins at the *direct expense* of the lower classes.
