I felt the Force a little bit today
I built a component in the @Convex Component Challenge "Firecrawl Scrape" - it gives 🔥 scrapes Convex persistence
@DanJCleary found something that escaped me while using my component in his project, @converge_run and I fixed it

Alright, jumping in the db/backend wars. Focusing solely on which is best for AI coding because we have the most context in this area (built @converge_run, vibe coding platform built on Convex).
Why Convex is better for vibe coding:
• Everything is TypeScript, which agents already understand. Supabase relies on SDK + dashboard-driven state
• Backend state lives in your codebase alongside frontend code. In Supabase, state is spread across schema, RLS policies, migrations, and dashboards
• Keeping backend state in sync across those layers is where agents break down
• Permissions are a major failure point when they live in a separate RLS layer instead of explicit code
• Most teams use an ORM/SDK anyway, the question is how small and predictable that abstraction is
• Realtime adds another coordination surface unless it's reactive by default, which Convex handles out of the box
Also: Convex just feels better, faster, and more modern.

If you've been wondering what all the hype was about for today, it's not Sonnet 5 or Opus 4.6, everyone is just super excited that @converge_run is launching on Product Hunt 🤷

Bolt and Lovable are laughable when it comes to building AI agents
@converge_run is able to easily build agents with tools, memory, RAG, + more thanks to leveraging @convex components.
If you want to vibe code anything with AI, Converge will build you something better, faster
The results speak for themselves👇

Day 5: UI exploration with @converge_run
and @convex
Saw @theo's UI for his new video management app called Lawn and thought it looked slick. Wanted to see how close @converge_run could mimic the UI for simple to-do app using a screenshot as inspo

Day 2: AI image generation studio using Nano Banana component in @converge_run
Intentional simple implementation
Even small things like tweaking system message to be specific to certain types of images/styles would be fun, the agent/ component handles all the hard stuff

Nano Banana component now available on @converge_run
-prompt to image
-edit images with prompts
-upload images to reverse engineer prompts
-built in storage, and much more
Just tell the agent you want to use Nano Banana
Can literally one shot an AI image studio

Taking an OpenSource project to production was an interesting challenge, but excited with where we're at.
Convex is the best backend for vibe coding, which makes @converge_run the best vibe coding platform.
Cheers @mikeysee !!

Will be vibe coding every day for the next 30 days, using @converge_run (Which uses @convex for every app).
Everyday I'll build something new
-webapps
-Chrome extensions
-AI things
inspired by folks like @matthewmillerai, @aashatwt, and others just building awesome stuff
