@kylegpeters @justin_hart You worship a God who creates people so that he can damn most of them to hell he created. He is no father. You created a monster. My God made us with a purpose, he loves all of us like a father, he will provide a path for all. We call it the “plan of happiness”.

I do not subscribe to LDS doctrines, no reason to. The Bible is clear enough on its own. The lake of fire is real and it is the destination for all who die in their sins. Those who hold to LDS theology with sincerity still die in their sins. A lot is on the line, I pray you find the true Christ and turn from LDS doctrines.

It's funny. My fellow Christians (who deny me that same title) love to cite the thief on the cross whom Christ seems to forgive at that fateful moment. I wonder if that man secretly whispered his position on homoousios and the Son being consubstantial with the Father before he got the nod into Paradise? But somehow my simple declaration that Christ is my Savior is insufficient to acknowledge that I am a Christian. go figure.

@GoWithJordan_ Omg. As a Protestant who deep dived into Mormonism to mock them, found out they are the nearest and closest to scripture. Surprising to me but I had to be honest. Now years later I am a Mormon. You can really have a relationship with our father.

@RobbBrunansky So you believe that 99.99999% of good people, Hindus, Buddhists..,JWs, Mormons go to burn in hell forever because they dont accept the 4th century characterization of Jesus made under pressure from the Romans? We believe most everyone goes to heaven. God loves all his children.

Mormons are not Christians, but they can be if they repent of their sins and trust in the true Lord Jesus Christ, rejecting the false Jesus, false gospel, and demonic spirit of Mormonism.

@RevHansen1563 We believe all churches have truth, and God loves everyone. Almost everyone will go to heaven, even those who have never heard of Jesus. Hindus, Muslims. Other churches hate us for reminding people God wants us all back and is everyone’s father.

@kylegpeters @justin_hart Ah, so do you espouse the originally LDS doctrine of degrees of heaven or “not hell” and not punishment? So you do understand that you should not interpret the Bible without discernment and correct translation. One of our tenets tha churches hate us for.

@RdHdSteppeson @LowerLeavell You people previously said people didn’t write on metal plates, etc. lol You don’t realize BYU/church have THE best biblical scholars. Educated all over, study all over. All students required at least 7 religion classes to graduate. You have nothing new to tell us.

No, you haven’t. Literally no comparable examples exist anywhere. The greatest anachronism, and one Mormons never reckon with is how the very idea of plates and records is anachronistic. Societies of the era were primary orality, the secondary orality did not emerge until after the period Lehi was supposed to exist; the ‘brass plates’ supposedly retrieved would not ever exist.

I did. It was a horrible experience. Full of factual errors (Jesus being born in Jerusalem, horses in America before the Spanish brought them, etc.), poorly written, hundreds of "and it came to pass" and other statements making it obvious that it is the same writer in each book, tells of a group being cursed with being black, Jesus telling the Nephites he is the "Alpha and Omega" when they would never have known Greek, quoting Latin words from the King James and other Biblical passages (which were the best parts of the reading), describing places and people that do not reflect the archeological and DNA evidence at all...and that's just the highlights and doesn't include the theoligical statements that directly contradict the Bible.... It's an absolute mess. But lastly...it promises another testament, which demonstrates it to be a different religion than Christianity. If it's just a different denomination, no new scriptures would be needed. You would never become LDS from reading the Bible alone.

Read the Book of Mormon. Cover to cover. Pray about it, asking sincerely to know whether it’s true (the final chapter provides specific guidance on this point). Then tell me whether Latter-day Saints believe in Jesus Christ. Will you accept that challenge?

Why are Mormons trying so hard to get us to call them Christians when they don’t consider us Christians? A foundational Mormon belief is that they ALONE are the restored church following a Great Apostasy. They view us as sincere and having a form of faith – but not the true church. They believe we lack authority, blessing, priesthood, and the full Gospel. We believe that while also sincere and having a form of faith, they have added to and subtracted from the Gospel. So how can we solve this? Read the Gospel! Compare traditional Christian belief and Mormonism to the Gospel, and find your answer.

The thief on the cross met and believed in the actual saviour. Not Joseph Smith’s conception of Jesus as an exalted man, the spirit brother of Lucifer, one god among many. The sheep of Christ hear his voice, they will not fall for a 19th century polytheist’s redefinition of God. I think you believe personal sincerity is a substitute for objective truth.

@PattySadhu @justin_hart @seanfeucht Also. John wasn’t aware of any other gospel. To him, he had the only book. According to your logic and interpretation, every other book of the Bible, apart from Revelation, would be “added”. (BYU students take 7 classes in scripture history)

@justin_hart @seanfeucht Peter is not the author here; John was. About 95 ad after all other New Testament books were written . The immediate context is about the book of Revelation but echoes the theme across the Bible. You keep having to address it because the heart of the warning is for all.

@Brandon41580279 @HwsEleutheroi so you’re saying your God creates people so he can send them to a fiery hell for eternity simply for being born to the wrong parents? If your God was a movie character you would think him a monster. Our God provides a path to baptism for ALL, even those who didn’t in this life

@coolerjets @HwsEleutheroi See this is why we think you’re outside of Christian orthodoxy. Jesus himself said "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned" (Mark 16:16). What you said contradicts Jesus’ own words. We don’t believe in the same Jesus

Social media is filled with the righteous indignation of the Mormons---who claim to be the only true Church, all other churches are corrupt, their creeds an abomination, their ministers the hirelings of Satan---that they, the Mormons, are not really Christians. It's just a tad ironic, but it does play on the ignorance of most LDS, and non-LDS, about LDS history and teachings. Their current modus operandi is to use the phrase "creedal Christians" and try to make the issue post-biblical. Here's the problem. The fundamental distinction between Christianity and Mormonism goes back to about 1400 BC, not 400 AD. Here is the foundational contrast: Before the mountains were born, Or Your brought forth the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. (Psalm 90:2) ...for I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see. Joseph Smith, 1844 Now, two quick things: 1) Psalm 90 is a song of Moses, hence the early date. 2) The King Follett Funeral Discourse is not LDS Scripture. But it is the most often cited sermon of Joseph Smith by the leaders of the LDS Church itself, and is one of two foundational sermons preached within the last months of his life. Hence, the issue is stark and clear. Monotheism vs. polytheism, one transcendent Creator God vs. an exalted man from another planet. Just a reminder from Brigham Young as to how Smith's words were interpreted by those who heard him initially: “Mankind are here because they are the offspring of parents who were first brought here from another earth, and were enabled to propagate their species, and they were commanded to multiply and replenish the earth. How many Gods there are, I do not know. But there never was a time when there were not Gods and worlds, and when men were not passing through the same ordeals that we are now passing through. That course has been from all eternity, and it is and will be to all eternity.” Brigham Young, JD 7:333, August 28, 1859.

Again, you are fighting with ignorant bigots who don't really care. First. Facts don't matter to them. Second, they won't accept your acceptance of Christ because it interferes with their belief system. This is always the problem when you don't stand up to such people.

Read the Old Apostles' Creed. I would accept 100% of those words. Then read the later Nicean Creed. For those who warn me about different gospels and not adding or taking away anything ... who added all those extra words and why do I need to accept them to be called a Christian?
