Installing garden power. Remote switching for 3 water pumps and garden lighting including festoon lighting.

@MartinSLewis If I can use scan as I shop then that is always my preference, then self scan, then staffed. I just find it easier & quicker, I’m a 54 year old male.

@Chuffin_ell @Chrisjw00 £12.21 is PAYE, dog walker at £20 is self employed with no holiday, sick pay, vehicle or mileage allowance, insurances & other business costs have to come out of it, the 2 rates are actually very similar. £12.21 is what the carer gets, the company will likely be billing £20+.

No disrespect to dog walkers. But when skilled carers earn less than someone walking a dog, we have to ask why care work is paid so little I’ve just seen an advert for a dog walker for £20 an hour Carers get £12.21 p/hr Unpaid carers get an allowance of less than £12 a day

@keellelectrical @nixonelectrical @WAGOUK I’d say Ideal too & to be fair their connectors are pretty good. I was using Ideal before Wago as their connectors were rated to 32A while Wago were still 24A, which I didn’t like using on a RFC with a 32A MCB. I am 100% Wago now though.

How long would it take you to 2nd fix all of this? 15x single sockets 1x 2 gang dimmer 1x 6 way grid switch. 1x heat alarm 3x smoke alarms 7x pendants 3x batten holders 2x thermostats 2x flex outlets 1x Towel rail fused spur 1x tv/bt Did it in around 6 hours. Was I slow?

@vitaelectrical @nixonelectrical I started buying Vortice from Denman’s maybe 12 years ago but fell out with them, so was buying from other wholesalers until Vortice changed their sales methods. Then I switched to an online wholesaler & now Rexel can do them at a good price.

Installed Manrose mixed flow fans with insulated ducting. Previous fans used non insulated ducting and not ducted out. #Amersham

@nixonelectrical Quality & trouble free though. I did switch to a cheaper one for a while but it was noisier & I had a couple of failures so the extra cost if worth it IMO.

Hager have better pull actions, the terminals all facing the same way on the 50 Amp pull is brilliant & their safety pendant is ace.

@John_EdwardsUK Looking through mobile phone data or any other documents is completely different to facial recognition or ANPR cameras in public spaces. Same goes for cameras (of any type) in public areas of say a hotel are fine but not inside the rooms or toilets. I have nothing to hide!

Peope saying ‘if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about” In that case, can I look through your mobile phone right now? Privacy and liberty matter. LFR turns policing into an AI-driven justice system where everyone is scanned and processed, flipping the presumption of innocence into treating everyone as a potential suspect. I do not want the state’s eyes tracking my daily life.

I cannot believe this. I’ve just walked past police facial recognition cameras on Camberley high street which is a small suburban town in Surrey There’s no protest or a major event going on — it’s just people doing their shopping. Labour is turning Britain into China.

@Lewden_Elec When we first switched from Type AC to Type A RCDs quite a few wholesalers struggled when ordering a B curve type A RCBO. Defo a confusing set of letters & whoever came up with it didn’t think it through properly.
