US Troops Need To Start Disobeying Orders In Iran, And Other Notes The president of the United States has a bat shit crazy post on Truth Social once again threatening to blow up civilian infrastructure in Iran, saying, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell — JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP.” At this point if you’re in the US military you have a moral obligation to start refusing orders. Desert. Become a conscientious objector. Ideally, get everyone together and launch a full-scale military coup. We’re in “Mad King” territory. Someone’s gotta do what needs to be done. Promoters of this war told the world it was about liberating the Iranian people from tyranny to bring them freedom and democracy. Now that they got their war it’s about bombing them “back to the Stone Age”, stealing their oil, and blowing up their bridges and power plants. The only people dumber than Americans who bought into Trump’s “ending the wars” shtick are the Iranians who believed the United States was going to bring freedom to their country. ❖ The Jerusalem Post just ran an opinion piece on Zohran Mamdani which includes the sentence, “It is time for the mayor of New York City to stand in solidarity with Muslim leaders who eschew antisemitic tropes, such as ‘genocide’ and ‘occupation,’ and are committed to a new and broader regional alignment in the Middle East.” It’s been fun watching Israel apologists invent “antisemitic tropes” in real time. The words “genocide” and “occupation” are antisemitic tropes now, apparently. According to pro-Israel groups like the Anti-Defamation League and B’nai Brith, the phrases “Epstein class” and “Operation Epstein Fury” are also recent additions to the no-no list. In reality these so-called “antisemitic tropes” are just effective talking points used to highlight facts that are inconvenient to Israel and its allies. Every relevant human rights group on earth agrees that Israel is an occupying force in the Palestinian territories. Every relevant human rights group on earth has accused Israel of genocide in Gaza. The phrase “Epstein class” makes the rich and powerful people who rule our society look as creepy and suspicious as they should look. “Operation Epstein Fury” highlights President Trump’s place in the Epstein Files, which a majority of Americans believe played a role in his decision to attack Iran. We see this all the time. Effective pro-Palestine political slogans like “Globalize the intifada” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” are labeled antisemitic not because they express hatred toward Jews but because they are effective. That’s all it ever is. Israel apologists see a phrase or slogan hurting Israeli information interests and go “Uh, okay so you can’t say those words anymore. Those words make Jewish people feel unsafe.” And then the phrases get banned. Here in Australia we just saw the state of Queensland ban the phrase “from the river to the sea” on penalty of two years in prison. For no other reason than because it’s something people chant at pro-Palestine protests. Antisemitism isn’t the target of these laws; the protests themselves are the target. They’re designed to shut down pro-Palestine demonstrations by making so many speech suppression laws that nobody would attend one without a lawyer present to advise them on what they may and may not say. The very first time someone told me “from the river to the sea Palestine will be free” was a hateful genocidal chant I thought it was the most ridiculous thing I’d ever heard, and to this day I still feel that way. It’s a completely counter-intuitive claim that makes no sense on first hearing it. It is only by the constant repetition of the assertion that it’s an antisemitic slogan that people began accepting this transparently absurd idea. They just said it over and over again in an authoritative tone until people started to buy it. Nobody actually believes these words and phrases are hateful toward Jews, they’re just pretending to believe that to promote the information interests of a genocidal apartheid state. That’s all we’re ever looking at with this nonsense. ❖ This fuel crisis really looks like it’s going to hurt. From a big-picture perspective it’s probably a good thing for westerners to feel some sting from their empire’s wars, and for US allies to start re-evaluating their relationship with Washington. But from a selfish perspective, damn this is gonna suck. ❖ I’m done trying to convince people not to use generative AI. You want to kill your critical thinking faculties? You want to lose the ability to write and create art? You want to make people like me look special and amazing because we can create things with our minds? Be my guest.

Reminder: Trump said his decision to launch the Iran war was shaped by conversations with Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Pete Hegseth, and Marco Rubio. Not one active military commander. Not one. Expect more of this, since Pete Hegseth is firing the people who actually know better, the generals. Military command experience: 📌 Steve Witkoff = 0 years (real estate investor) 📌 Jared Kushner = 0 years (son-in-law) 📌 Marco Rubio = 0 years (senator) 📌 Pete Hegseth = 0 years (served in the military, but never commanded large-scale operational units like a general or combatant commander)

Ignorance, the root and stem of all evil
🚨 ‼️John Mearsheimer 🚨"FIRED "🚨Donald Trump No signs of quick end to US-Israel war on Iran First of all, this argument that, Iran is a great threat to stability in the Middle East, and a serious threat to the United States is nonsense. The greatest threat to stability in the Middle East is the United States, working closely together, with Israel. Iran has not started a war, in centuries as best I can tell. It's not a highly aggressive country. The country in the Middle East that aggressive is Israel. The country that has, committed genocide in Gaza is not Iran, it's Israel, and we were complicit. We meaning the United States is complicit in genocide. Twice, once last year in June of twenty twenty-five and again on February 28th of this year, the United States and Israel launched unprovoked attacks against Iran. So the idea that Iran is this great destabilizer in the Middle East is a myth that the United States and Israel purvey. The Israelis and the Americans are now doing to deal with this purported Iranian threat, what you see is we've taken measures that have made the situation much worse. In fact, one could argue that we are going to crash the international economy as a result of this war that Israel and the United States started. I would make the argument that we are on the edge of the precipice, in terms of the state of the world economy because of this war. This war shows no, signs of ending anytime soon, and already great damage has been done to the international economy, and more damage will be done the longer the war goes on. So this idea that, number one, Iran is a great threat to the United States is bogus, and number two, the idea that President Trump, and his friends in Israel are making, a safer and more stable Middle East is a ludicrous argument. In fact, what they're doing is they're putting the entire world, on the precipice of a disaster.

Kurt you absolute moron! NATO is a defensive alliance. This war is one of aggression led by Israel with zero prior consultation of European allies. Article 5 has only been triggered once and it was the US after 9/11. The UK came to your aid. We had a death rate per million of population almost identical to the US across both Afghanistan and Iran. When the UK fought a war against Argentina the US did not come to our aid and Israel did worse, secretly selling arms to the Argentinian regime. So spare me your f*cking cry baby tears because Netanyahu got you into a war you can’t get out of and your combined militaries are too weak to open the Straights of Hormuz without our help. When you learn how to restrain Israel, we will open the Straights. But for now you made your own bed.

@KurtSchlichter Exactly, US spent years treating allies like subordinates while demanding blind loyalty. Now US start illegal wars without consultation, threaten tariffs and annexation, then cry betrayal when we won’t enable it.

@KurtSchlichter 'innocuous cooperation'?😵‍💫 Trump's request is a glaring declaration of contempt for European lives. Launching airstrikes from Europe instantly makes it a legitimate target for Iranian retaliation. If acting as a blast shield is no big deal, host the war on US soil. #IranWar

Agree but Europe are lying they support the illegal war 100% USA use their military bases all over Europe to attack Iran The hole operation is managed from the Rammstein base in Germany So that Europe’s airspace are closed for USA are a lie UK fighters jets are active in Iran
Gandalv@Microinteracti1

Right then. Let me explain something very slowly, because it appears some basic logic has gone missing somewhere over the Atlantic. No serious nation in the history of warfare has spent fourteen months insulting its allies, threatening to annex their territory, siding with their common enemy, and then knocked on their door expecting them to come running to rescue a catastrophe of its own making. That is not how alliances work. That is not how anything works. You abused the UK. You threatened Canada. You tried to grab Greenland. You called the EU an adversary. You praised Putin, the one man every serious NATO ally has spent decades preparing to fight. You hosted Kremlin officials in the Capitol. You undermined European elections. You abandoned Ukraine. You imposed tariffs on your closest partners. You did all of this loudly, proudly, and on camera. And now you are surprised that nobody is returning your calls. Here is a question worth sitting with. Why do you think that is? Is it possible, just possible, that when you treat your allies like enemies for over a year while cuddling up to their actual enemy, those allies might update their opinion of you? Is that concept too complicated? Does that require more working memory than is currently available? You did not plan this war with your allies. You did not consult them. You did not build a coalition. You started a conflict, watched it go sideways, and then got on your knees asking for help from people you spent fourteen months calling weak, corrupt and irrelevant. NATO is not what it was. Not because Europe changed. Because Washington made crystal clear which side it is on. And it is not ours. You want European boots on the ground? Start by explaining why America is more aligned with Moscow than with Brussels. Take your time. We will wait. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

As usual when Trump talk it’s all lies. The rescue operation was a big flop just like everything Trump does. If it’s true only idiots risk 100 of soldiers life and for billions of military equipment for saving 1 wounded pilot Soldiers have cameras in their helmets Let’s see it
Arnaud Bertrand@RnaudBertrand

So, if I got that right, here's the narrative: - A US F-15E fighter jet got shot down over Iran, despite Trump saying 2 days beforehand in his nationwide address that Iran has "no anti-aircraft equipment. Their radar is 100% annihilated." (apnews.com/article/donald…) - The plane's weapons systems officer - a "highly respected Colonel," according to Trump - ejected from the plane and got "seriously wounded" (still according to Trump: @realDonaldTrump/116351956955900185" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTru…) - He still managed to "hike up a 7,000-foot [2.1km] mountain ridgeline and hide in a crevice" in the Zagros Mountains, despite his wounds (time.com/article/2026/0…) - U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drones started killing all "Iranian military-aged males believed to be a threat who got within three kilometers of [the American's location]" (x.com/ByChrisGordon/…) - To retrieve him the U.S. managed to seize an "abandoned airport," 200 miles deep inside Iran, near Isfahan (bbc.com/news/articles/…), which happens to be where Iran's largest atomic scientific center is located (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isfahan_N…) - They landed two MC-130 military transport planes in that airport (theaviationist.com/2026/04/05/u-s…) in an operation involving "hundreds of special forces troops and military personnel" (time.com/article/2026/0…) - Both MC-130 planes got "stuck in the sand" and the U.S. destroyed them themselves "to prevent them from falling into Iranian hands" (theaviationist.com/2026/04/05/u-s…) - They deployed "three new aircraft to extract all the U.S. personnel" on the ground (theaviationist.com/2026/04/05/u-s…) - There are videos circulating online of "heavy clashes" with presumably Iranian missiles raining down in Kohgiluyeh County, in the Zagros Mountains during that night (x.com/Afshin_Ismaeli…) - Iran sent pictures of the aftermath at the "abandoned airport" and it's a sight of utter destruction, with US plane and MH-6 helicopter parts scattered all over the ground, still smoking (turkiyetoday.com/region/wreckag…). Iran claims they are the ones who in fact destroyed all the aircraft. - Meanwhile a second U.S. plane, an A-10 Warthog, also crashed on Friday near the Strait of Hormuz according to two U.S. officials speaking to the NYT (#47863db0-d61e-51bf-b7e1-6c4a9dc988e7" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">nytimes.com/live/2026/04/0…). In that instance too the lone pilot was apparently "safely rescued." - In all this, after the multiple planes and helicopters destroyed or shot down, the documented heavy clashes, the "hundreds of special forces troops and military personnel" operating deep inside Iran, not a single US soldier was reported killed "or even wounded" (according to Trump: @realDonaldTrump/116350133044957842" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTru…). - And the 'highly respected Colonel' this was all for? No name. No photo. No interview. Nobody has spoken to him nor knows who he is. So to sum up: anti-aircraft equipment that supposedly didn't exist shot down an F-15 (and, apparently, an A-10 Warthog the same day). A seriously wounded man climbed a 2.1km mountain. The US seized an airfield 200 miles inside a country it's at war with, next to one of its most strategic nuclear sites, and deployed hundreds of troops all apparently unimpeded. Lost two planes to "sand" and destroyed their own helicopters. Videos show heavy clashes, missiles raining down - but not a single person got "even wounded". And the man at the center of it all? Nobody knows who he is, completely anonymous, zero pictures, but Trump says he is "SAFE and SOUND." And so is the rescued A-10 Warthog pilot, who also remains anonymous. Trump concludes this all proves the US has "achieved overwhelming Air Dominance and Superiority over the Iranian skies" (@realDonaldTrump/116350133044957842" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTru…), despite the whole episode only happening because Iran shot his planes out of the sky. Basically, the only thing that's "overwhelming" here is the audacity of the storytelling...
