@SketchesbyBoze @SketchesbyBoze We need purpose infrastructure. Not more tools to remove friction. Not better AI to think for us. Infrastructure to preserve the conditions where meaning can take root. The cost isn't that your brain becomes pudding. It's the lack of belief you still need it.

Big Tech is offering you a Faustian bargain. It promises to remove all the friction from life, to keep you from having to think or study, and the result is your brain will become pudding, you’ll become incapable of creativity or communication. They want to make you a non-person.

Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing a text, writing an email, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing since the dawn of time.

@SketchesbyBoze @SketchesbyBoze The removal doesn't have to be malicious. Optimization can be helpful. But the result is the same: purpose becomes scarce when effort becomes optional. Even without malice, even with benign optimization, the conditions where meaning forms collapse anyway.

@SketchesbyBoze Friction is the substrate, not the barrier. You don't build a relationship with a story by having it summarized for you. You don't develop taste by letting an algorithm curate for you. You don't find meaning in something that cost you nothing to engage with.

@SketchesbyBoze @SketchesbyBoze I think the deeper problem isn't the Faustian bargain itself. It's what disappears when the bargain works. The assumption is that friction is the obstacle. That if we just make everything seamless enough, life gets better. But friction is where purpose forms.

An alleged antisemitic incident aboard a Vueling flight has sparked outrage after over 50 Jewish children were removed from the plane for singing in Hebrew. Their camp director was arrested in front of them. Vueling claims the group was disruptive, mishandled emergency equipment, and ignored safety instructions — denying any link to religion. But according to Israel’s Minister for Combating Antisemitism, Amichai Chikli, this was a “serious antisemitic event,” raising concerns about the targeting of Jewish children for simply expressing their identity. Being Jewish is not a crime. We will not stay silent.
