Great morning at @RSPBMiddleton. LSW, GShank, Dunlin, CSand, BlkWit, Cuckoo, CTern, masses of Swifts and this sandpiper (scope photo at a distance) Erring towards Wood Sand but opinions welcome. @Staffs_Birds @MercianBirding

Still not fully dry after a moist mope round @rspbmiddleton this morning. 7 Blackwit, 2 Snipe, 13 Goldeneye. No sign of yday's reported Brent Goose - frustratingly the 2nd in 12mnths to be belatedly reported.

Despite @RSPBMiddleton being 90%frozen, 5 G Partridge, 6 Pochard, 3 Goldeneye, 8 Goosander, GWE, Marsh Harrier, Common Gull & 2 Yellowhammer was a fairly decent return this morning. @Staffsbirdnews

After 3 weeks in Bolivia, my first visit to @RSPBMiddleton in a month was, unsurprisingly, rather light on tanagers, antbirds and condors. Still, a latish Garganey was a pleasing find on Reed Pool. Also 3 Shelduck, Dunlin, 10 Snipe, Stonechat, 7 Mipit, 4 Siskin. @Staffsbirdnews

A warm and initially sunny morning @RSPBMiddleton brought a Sanderling onto West scrape but chased by a juvenile Sparrowhawk only other wader of note a single Green Sand . That’s so far only half way round
