I swear I mostly dislike posting bluesky screenshots elsewhere But this was too funny not to bring to a wider audience

Trump today at his rally in Allentown, PA: "By the way, nice trucks. You think I could hop into one of them and drive it away? I'd love to do it. Just drive the hell outta here. Just get the hell out of this. I had such a good life. My life was great."

In addition to things like Trump's approval and the Generic Ballot, we also keep track of a variety of other poll questions, including Democrat and Republican favorability. Republicans spent most of the last 2 years... less unfavorable than Democrats, but recently that has changed, with Democrats only being -8 on favorability, versus -13 for Republicans. Multnomah is only voting 17% more "blue" (or pro-tax) than the rest of the state overall, which is hilarious since the public transit and road fixes would clearly benefit them the most.

There is some insane under/overvoting happening in Oregon right now (lots of votes to come in still, will be a while before we get final numbers) For Senate, vote totals are currently D: 369,127 R: 294,958 But for Gov? D: 349,207 R: 340,454 Ridiculous composition gap lol

Here’s what primary turnout looked like in the states that voted last night (AL/GA have open primaries and the other states have closed primaries) PA cracks me up a little, Rs just hate voting in midterms there

Two-party turnout in Georgia’s 2026 gubernatorial primary, mapped by county, with 2024 presidential results shown on the right. Democrats dominated the Black Belt and Metro Atlanta alike, with Black enthusiasm through the roof post-VRA. 🔵 53.6% | 🔴 46.4% Statewide

The combo of Ds being up 150k votes in the primary while the incumbent SC justices lead by two wildly different margins (2 and 18) really tells you just how far removed we, being extremely online, are from the way most people experience elections and voting

@corncobanalysis you can literally take notes into the booth with you though. You can go print out the sample ballot before you go and walk into the polls with the whole like 9 pages. There’s truly no excuse

I feel like a lot of people forget that Ken Paxton really did almost lose in 2018? It’s not hard to see how a harsher political environment and much sharper scrutiny could tilt the scales away from him
