5A Player to Watch: Saint Thomas Aquinas senior Westin Boyle is the real deal at SS for the Saints. Boyle is the #1 ranked shortstop in the state and heading to Purdue to continue his baseball career at the DI level (also had offers from Michigan and Missouri). Boyle led the Saints last spring with a batting average of .391 on the year as he led the team to a 5A State Championship. When asked about the upcoming season he said, “This is a special group, our lineup can really hit 1-9. We are a very close group that loves being together on and off the field. We also have some great pitching and defense looking to repeat what we did last year with another state championship.” Boyle also added he was excited for one final season getting to play with his younger brother Lincoln Boyle who is a junior and committed to Arkansas to continue his baseball career. #sportsinkansas Photo: @saberbm
