Especially with struggles to find host sites for state. Nebraska runs a fantastic basketball state tournament. Would be good to copy their model.

If you have a son and daughter both playing in sub-state title games and one is in say, Osborne and the other is playing in Jetmore, it's a pick-one deal.

KSHSAA is holding Regional meetings in the coming weeks. There will be opportunities for positive change for a variety of sports. Most notably 1-3A basketball and volleyball. These changes would be great for our state in my opinion. kshsaa.org/Publications/R…

Offense does not have to be executed by running highly controlled motion offenses and set plays. The mantra of 'less is more' is perhaps most relevant when it comes to offense. Here's a thread on a principles of play approach can be adopted within team offense. 🧵

Nothing wrong with advocating for your league if the current system is blocking good teams from advancing.

This is 1A DII Boys formatted like 4-6A. East/West Divisions. 1-32 seeded. Would be an awesome format, and much better than what the smaller classes have currently. We can find a solution @sportsinkansas @TVLSpotlight @HeadbandJesy @baker_kansas @KSHSAA @BrentKSHSAA

we wrote about this for 2a VB, 3a VB recently 3a gbb...the travel is a non-issue...some make lack of officials an issue, but that's easily avoidable the major issue is that certain parts of the state feel their path to a state tourney is blocked by going to this better format

I just think 4 quads is simpler.

One simple real example for 1A….3+ hour trip with school next day. Horrible for fans who work, kids with class, plus coaches and bus drivers who are often teachers at that level. Better solution, 4 quads or find neutral sites

Staggering boys/girls states, holding multiple classes at state sites, power point system with a wildcard. The list goes on and on.

There are teams right now with 2 weeks between games due to a first round bye and playing all games before the cut off date. That’s unnecessary.
