@AnalyticaCamil1 @DrPepetual this isn't their HIMARS equivalent even though it can fire guided rockets and ATACMS grade missiles, their actual HIMARS (or even more potent system) would be the PHL-16

@DrPepetual I’d say that their rockets are arguably worse from a power/range perspective (unlike HIMARS which only fires GMLRS sized rockets and upwards size-wise, the SR5 only fires GMLRS sized-rockets to GRAD-class rockets), but they’re probably accurate enough to get the job done.

@cosmic_entityyy @0xJuzo @clashreport Look at the distance between the engines. The one in the photo is an Akıncı, but it's probably an old photo. This crashed new aircraft is definitely not an Akıncı. It looks more like a jet-powered manned or unmanned aircraft.

The drone shot down by the Bayraktar Akıncı was a Chinese-made jet-powered UCAV operated by the UAE in Sudan and launched from Ethiopia.

Surprised it’s taken this long to be fielded. The Russians will want to scale this up and place it around strategic locations. Using hundreds to thousands of interceptor missiles every month simply isn’t going to work much longer.

The Russians claim to have shot down Ukrainian AN-196 “Lyutyy” long-range strike UAVs using a 30 mm cannon with AI-controlled targeting elements. The system is likely the BM-30-D “Spitsa” (Спица) in a stationary anti-UAV configuration, first demonstrated to Medvedev in 2025.

It is about BMI index. Only RAAF has asked to reduce weight by 170g to make it fit to be worn by pilots with less than 62kg weight.
Where does it say HMD add weight and thus is not usable?

That is why slat armor is called "statistical armor" since it has a good chance of disabling the round but also a chance to make it more potent
